    I think a new telling of the story would not be a bad idea. Of course I would have concerns if the updated version went full Hollywood. I am quite open to seeing Peter Jackson’s Dambuster project, whether it goes ahead that is another matter. Too many people will write them off before they are produced.
    Although I do have severe reservations about the new Dad’s Army…

    There does seem a lack of fresh stock hitting the market combined with some eye watering prices for equipment. I know of a recovered Merlin which was eventually sold as scrap as seller didn’t get an offer near his asking price. Such a shame.

    For me it would be locality, I would be willing to travel an 1 hour half to an event but even then my options are very limited.

    Missed the first episode and thought people might have been exaggerating how poor the commentary was. But no, it was truly awful.

    Talking of JU87’s was a restoration project not registered as G-STUK a few years back?

    Received my copy yesterday, thoroughly enjoying it. Some projects I was not aware of and others I had lost track of. Excellent work Mr Riley.

    As for Spitfire Survivors, I picked up Vol. I for £20 earlier this year. My hunt for Vol. II is proving a lot harder though.

    I would like to thank everyone at Goodwood, the owners and the pilots for the BoB event. Fantastic to experience so many aircraft.

    A couple of small gripes;
    Closing the walkway at the end of the runway after all the aircraft had departed so we to walk all the way around the perimeter to get to our car park.

    I would have liked to have got to have closer access to the aircraft like what was available for those who attended the Revival.

    But small complaints it was a free event after all.

    I thought he was a poor choice as host when C4 announced the coverage. Alas I was proven right.

    Condolences to everyone affected. It is a tragic accident, I hope it shall not influence future displays too heavily. An unfortunate blemish on the superb safety record at British airshows. How many thousands perhaps millions have enjoyed such events without incident? There will always be risks when displaying aircraft and it can never be totally removed no matter how much red tape is thrown about.

    From the published listings it would appear so far that ARCo/HFL are not sending any aircraft to the Biggin Hill event, and BHHH are not doing this event at Duxford.

    Is there a listing for the event at Biggin on the 18th? I have not been able to find one, saw that the HAC Hurricane has arrived in preparation.

    Glad the pilot is ok most importantly. Not looking good for the Spit judging by the photo https://mobile.twitter.com/khurramfarooq/status/627479770054402048

    When I visited Fantasy of Flight some 10 years ago now, the Lancaster was stored in some shipping containers in the ‘back lot’.

    When I asked what the plans were for it, I was told it was a very long term project. And in the decade since little has changed. I believe the rear turret was loaned to the Peter Jackson’s Dambusters production in exchange for its restoration.
