what’s worst is that these are actually Moslems like the hostage takers, so yes it WAS INDEED WRONG DOING, however deneying the hostage takers water for their hostages – not to mention food – and not allowing anybody to negotiate with them then storming the school in full force causing 400 casuallities – 95% moslems – shows full un-respect for the value of human life

What utter BS. So the point is that its “worse” because hostages were moslem huh? Otherwise it would have been AOk. Not so bad. Shows what your ideology is. The hostage takers refused to let the children drink and even shot a few who disobeyed, kids ate rose petals and drank their own urine thanks to the mujahedeen and u blame the russians? whilst the terrorists were sexually assaulting 15 yr old kids?
talk about propoganda and spinning all the blame on the russians who were trying to save their own citizens.

Dont misqoute him Karna, Kfradrat is not implying that its worse because the victims were moslem, it does not matter what religion the women and children were……

I think unless SERIOUSLY PROVOKED, no one will attack Iran, it may be taking the doctrine of pre emption too far, it would alieniate Europe (see the mass demos against teh Iraq war) and there would be outrage in the Islamic world on a mass scale that would make the proetests about Afghanistan and Iraq seem like a quiet one man show……

Then of course there is the fact that almost every major Islamic country would break what little ties any of them had with Israel and of course not be too worried the next time there is any sort of attacks of Jewish targets in Israel itself, in fact would not be suprised if some countries would facilitate Irananian retalitory action…….

Sure, you don’t give a damn and neither should Iran give a damn about US interests. In fact no one should give a damn about US interests.

But let me just give some friendly advice: It may not be the wisest of actions to eat the bananas that grow in a 800lb silverback’s territory without his consent. It may lead to… unpleasant consequenses.

I am no professor of English but what on earth do you mean!? Are you eqauting on nations right of self defence to eating bananas on a gorrilas patch!? Not really an accurate analogy if you ask me……

If Israel has nukes Iran should be allowed to have them, I really dont see anyone in Iran starting a nuclear war once they obtain nuclear capability. Yes, it may make them more daring ion supporting Hezboallah, but that in itself is not a reason to strike at Iran.

Pakistan and India are nuclear powers and both seem to be showing a degree of responsibility in maintaing a nuclear force, no reason why Iran will not.

Looking at it from Irans perspective, you have a nuclear amred Isreal with Jerichos and F-15Is and F-16Is and a HUGE US military presence next door where your neighbour has just been invaded, I would try damn hard to get nukes to make me feel safer……..

i think that it will be a mamoth achievement on that part of pakistan to actually secure orders for 70 f-16’s and i really think that it is something that is going to be very tough to pull of. Maybe at best a few dozen token f-16’s can be accomodated but good luck trying to pull something off with this congress and senate.

that will be something very tough because then a case has to be made that pakistan actually needs all those advanced fighter jets and the weaponry to go with it for a reason any other then pertaining to india (and i dont mean it in a bad way)..making the viper purchases as a key factor in the WOT will be highly questioned by the legistlatures. All i can say is tough lobbying will be required and even then a few people in the senate and congress can just spoil it.

    Very true!
Lets not also forget alot depends on what TYPE of F-16 we are talking about and numbers.

a dozen more stored F-16A/Bs will hardly raise eyebrows and in fact not add that much to the PAF

I concede, asking for 70+ F-16C/D Block 50/60s may be a whole different ball game….

However if Sweden or France approve sales of Gripen and M2K-5 then it may well become an issue of US jobs rather then strategic concerns….

Wasn’t there something about eating grass just to get nukes…

Damn right! I am proud that Pakistan matched and if not surpassed India in nuclear weapons, it was the only way of securing national defence, but now we are getting off topic…..

Yes, and every PM and General will continue doing it even if there is a tiny chance, they will continue to ask. Why? Because we are poor country and if we can get effective aircraft at low cost we will make no quams about going, bowel in hand if need be, to secure these aircraft.

Sea Eagles and Harpoons may not be a threat to SU-30s but they will be to any ship based platform that launches Brahmos

With regards to air launched Bhramos, there is a Navy in the neighbourhood that has LY-60N, Phalnax and Standard

These will be controlled by 9LV 200 Mark 3/9SCS Mark 3 command systems coupled with CEROS radar and sights for anti missile work….

Yes, one we recive the first 4 friagates and order 4 more, then 8 will be enough and we can retire the 6 Type 21s

The Atlantiques and F-27s have all gone through upgrades and are equipped with the Thales Ocean Master radar and air launched exocet

Yes, after the first batch of three 90bs PN may order 4 more 90bs or Scorpenes, then we can retire the Agosta 70s

Any govt in US-be it democrat or republican-would do wot (to them) serves american intersts in the best manner. If that means arming the enemy of ur best friend…then so b it…as long as it serves american interests.

    That was my point exactly!
