Indian
PAF had PGM capability in 1984, no one new about this for 4 years until the PAF made it public by releasing a photo of a Paveway being loaded onto a F-16 in “Defenders of Pakistan”. Thye kept that secret!
So, that coupled with an AFM news article mentioning South African BVR weapons being tested by 7 sqd Mirages makes me inclined to belive there is something going on……..
Srbin, the H-4, is *not* an AAM, it’s either an ASM or a powered glide bomb. I’ve spoken to members from Denel, Kentron and some relevant parties and the ‘Darter to the PAF’ is nothing but an internet rumor, if not complete wishful thinking.
Harry
With all due respect, if they did or did not, and the PAF or any organisation wanted to keep it hushed up, would the South African revealed all to you?
No offence, but lets try and get beyond “I spoke to a bloke from so and so and he said this so it must be true”………
Yawn, this “news” has been posted several times before and has been “reported” for about 4 years now, what gives!?
Not by the Swedish parliament, at least. Not yet. It’s hard to approve something that hasn’t been taken up in the parliament yet…
Regards
So I guess the Sweish Ambassador does not know what she is taking about then!?
“To a question about provision of a radar system to Pakistan, the Ambassador said, the deal has been cleared by the Parliament “
Looks like PAF is developing a new transport hub to compliment PAF Chaklala

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan is building its second military/air force transport base at Masroor near Karachi to house multi-role C-130’s planes and authorities concerned are engaged day and night to complete it before December this year.
Well-placed defence sources told The News here that the base is being developed with assistance of the United States that will provide Pakistan the latest version of the C-130 planes. The planes are being supplied under an agreement, signed by both the countries last year when Pakistan’s defence secretary Lt. General Hamid Nawaz Khan visited the United States.
The sources said that supply of the planes would start in last month of this year. At least six planes will become part of the Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) transport fleet within next year. With this the PAF fleet would close to double of the existing strength. The PAF had 12 C-130 in the beginning but four planes were destroyed in the process of their operations while one was damaged and still not in service.
The C-130 is the largest in number of the planes in one single configuration in use world over as 1530 planes of such category are being used by the different air forces. Till now Chaklala was the only transport base the PAF had and in case of any eventuality if the Chaklala renders inoperative, the whole transport is ceased. For the reason the PAF has decided to establish another base, the sources added.
The Masroor air base, previously known as Mauri Pur air base, is considered to be the forward base for provision of assistance for the naval operations. It is among the largest bases of Southern Air Command that used to have bomber planes. It was named after a valiant fighter pilot Masroor, who sacrificed his life in an operation in 1971 war with India.
The base will have hangers for the wide body planes and its airstrip will also be strengthened and expanded further, the sources said.
Was no where eolse to post it and thought best to consolidate all Pakistani news.
Pakistan Army should have a chopper fleet of about 300+ choppers very soon.
I think the strategy is to develop a single air assault brigade
After US and Russian deliveries fleet should look like this
100 MF-17s – Observation/liason/training
30 Pumas
30 MI-17s
40 Bell 206s
40 Bell 406
60 UH-1s
26 Bell 212
60 AH-1 Cobras
20 Alloutte 2
20 Alloute 3
To be honest the problem may be far to many chopper types in service.
Surely they can standardize on 3 types?
I think all the allouttes may be disposed of soon though
