Yes, you are completely right, but some start by using clever sarcasm and then wait for a response! Lets not ruin another PAF thread and stick to the subject!

The PAF does not exist to impress you, but when our boys on a 2 F-16 patrol managed to shoot down 2 MIGs while outnumbered 8 to 2, that certianly impressed me, as did the skill of PAF pilots against teh Israelis….

I am just pointing out that the PAF saw these as a threat and shot these planes down, and that every Air Force must defend its air space, who , and I qoute, said that “I am sure the PAF is better then this”, I was simply pointing out that the PAF had no choice, does one let strike loaded MIGS just fly into ones territory and do nothing!? As you were saying it was no big deal I was just happy to point out there are many air forces who have done similar!

Yeah, almost as bad as shooting down twin prop Atlantic maritime patrol aircraft hey!? I am sure some air forces are better then that Sharmaji!

I did not comment on the enemy, just gave numbers, but remember there were times when F-16s were heavily outnumbered by MIG-21/23s and still scored kills so it wass not all plain sailing!

As for the whole thing about teh ROEs the sovs operated under, PAF were under very similar constraints, both sides were!

I think teh point is that at 8-10 Billion, that would be one of teh biggest orders ever placed for French exports ever! Suprising how it is only reported in a few Indian papers…

But seriously! Israel sems to cope well on all american kit, as does saudi (with teh exception of the tornados) , is it such an awful idea to comletely harmonise both air forces, perhaps to the extent that RAF sqds would be able to fit seamlessly into USAF expiditionary wings!? I am aware of teh strategic and industrial agruments for not doing so, but already the present RAF transport fleet (C-17s and C-130Js) would not look out of place if based in North Carolina! 🙂

ah sod it! you could replace the entire RAF fleet with F-16Es if ya ask me!

Two eaters to take over from teh Tornados GR4s and lost and lots of single seaters to take over the Jag and Tornado F3 roles!

200 of the beauties will do the job! You know it mnakes sense! 🙂

Yes, cant really see England trying to re start the American War of Independence again! 🙂

Surely 60 F-22s would anable teh RAF to integrate more closely with the USAF in future ops!

That way the sharp end of teh RAF would consist of the F-22 and F-35, exactky the same high low mix the usaf will be using in the future!

This whole thing is starting to resemble the Nimrod AEW fiasco of teh 80s! UK invested heavily in that and in teh end terminated the project and brought 7 E-3s!

Couls it be history repeating itself!

After all, surely buying 60 odd F-22s off teh shelf would be cheaper then 232 Eurofighters plus development costs or am I missing something?
