According to this Anza 3 has a range of 15km!
Silly question, but what is Bangladeshes wartime strategy!? Who do they see as a threat and how do they intend to fight!?

Especially in the deserts, both India and Pakistan will have heavy troop formations where AAA and MANPADS, SAMS etc will dominate. I do not see any way how the Hind or the Cobra will have any major impact on the war. Maybe this is why the IAf only operates 35 hinds and Pakistan only 20. Pakistan will have 58 yes, but then again it is getting those for free via American aide money and that is one of the few weapons that they can get so…
Your not making sense, does not matter if we pay or dont pay for them, to say 40 extra anti-tank choppers will not have an effect on the land battle is niave….

the Pak armour, armed Dhruvs, Milan2T and konkurs ATGMs and
in 2-5 yrs Nag on BMP, LCH and AT submunitions on rocket systems. theres even LAHAT ATGM tested on arjun now…a buy of 1000 is planned after tests.not good.
I heard that teh Indian Army is unhappy with the Arjun and is only ordering 120 of them!? ut feel we are changing topic here, this thread is not about Armour

—thats a poor recollection of history. it was a Mi17 armed only
with rockets and no flare dispensers.the “new” Mi17s are a different matter . they have self-defence
suite and ATGMs. the “old” Mi17s have also got flare dispensers now.IAF will use the “new” Mi17s for action only in kargil type heights
which is above the service ceiling of Mi25. the Hinds will be used in plains and desert.anyway you are neglecting the armed Dhruv of which there will
be 100s in the inventory , around 10 are in service with IA already..and its more specialized variant the LCH both feature a israeli avionics suite under the joint agreement. both will have Nah top-attack ATGM.thats the development path, old cobras arent going to cut it esp if India arms its dhruvs with something like a hot-off-the-rail python4. thats why I mentioned WZ10.
more “new” Mi17Vs will continue to be laid in for the medium transport and kashmir attack role.
Apologies if it was a MI-17, I stand corrected

They’ll presently have 58 in total then won’t they.Evidence to support your claim about “Cobra got whacked during IPGW”? No, I thought that would be too much to ask.
Of course you would take the Hind and, if the Indians had the Cobra instead, then you’d take that. You probably think the car you drive is the greatest too.
Why don’t you start a poll or a “my Hinds are better than your Cobras so ner ner ner” thread, SabreAce?
Steve Rush ~ Touchdown-News
Steve, dont bother, if its Pakistani = crap, if its Indian = great
Poeple like Sabreace are really not here for aviation interest! [/B][/QUOTE]
Sabre Ace in a few months it will be 58 Cobras not 18, IAF has 32 Hinds, please explain how the Cobras get a whacking in the Persian Gulf War”? I heard Iraqi Hinds suffered badly too, in fact I think the Hind has performed poorly in most conflicts it has been engaged in!
I’ll take the AH-1F….CNITE!
4 CN235s and 6 C-130s being delivered this year, not a bad additions to PAF transport fleet!

It depends on the Mi-25 in question. Keeping the ever present India vs Pakistan theme, India’s Mi-25s are quite upgraded. Their Shturm missiles are also better. I’d take an upgraded HIND over an upgraded Cobra.
Hi Vympel
I would prefer a Cobra (max speed 190 knots) over a Hind (max speed (172 knots) for being faster and presenting a much smaller target to the enemy, both have FLIR and can fight at night dont know hoe the Shturm compares to TOW 2 or Bakter Shikan though
In addition to this Pakistans Cobra fleet will be 60 compared to 32 IAF MI-25s, this translates into a much higher ratio of ant-tank chopper support for teh Pakistan Army (roughly half the size of Indias)

One of the lessons learned from that incident was implemented: now every Mi-8 and Mi-17 in the inventory have automatic flare dispensors.BTW, how could the Mi-8 have been shot down by the PA inside Indian territory? I thought the PA didn’t take part in the Kargil thing? I guess you meant to say that the Mujahideen shot it down. But then how could the Mujahideen get their hands on an Anza? How many licks does it take to get to the truth? The world may never know 😉
Victor, despite your best attempts, I will not get into a flame war, this thread is just too good at the momment and simply not worth wasting on the likes of you.
I was simply making a point that India does use MI-8s in an amred configuration (with rocket pods)

the indian Alouettes and Mi8s arent the “cutting edge” of anti-armour work. They are unarmed utility choppers.I was speaking of the AH-1s. why buy old crap when the WZ-10 will soon be available!
IAF was flying armed MI-8s during Kargil, one was even shot down by Pakistan Army, so to describe them as unarmed is innacurate!
Indian
AH-1Fs are used by Jordan and Israel, ours have CNITE and TOW 2, I would not descibe that as “old crap”, perhaps your lack of knowledge is showing here or you intend to delibirately flame.
I would rather be hunting tanks in a AH-1F then a MI-25…..
