If the Chinese radar which you have added is not the YLC-2, then you may also add YLC-2 to your list.

Thanks Jai, do you have specs for this platform!?

well that figures . yahoo inhabits a world all of his own.

a JTIDS C3I network for air defence was supplied by US
long ago. the networking and control stations came with it.
even ravi rikheye’s 1984 book has mention of it.

I think Pakistan uses its on C3I system but have no details on it.

Lets not start getting into personal insults.

“In that sence: one must not be an Indian to oppose the sale of F-16s – or any other kind of advanced military technology – to Pakistan. A country that is one of the main training bases for international terrorism, and a country which created the Taliban, should not be getting any such stuff just because it’s pretending to be a “great US ally” since 9/11, especially as it “joined” the US-lead anti-terror alliance only on a direct threat of an US invasion. But, as should be clear meanwhile, the memory of responsible people in Washington is recently very weak when it comes to such details…”

Only a matter of time before the Pakistan bashing started huh!? Pathetic…….some people on this forum seem to have a genuine inferiority complex….

The atlantiques have i believe a surface search radar exclusively for maritime detection not as AEW. The Searchwater 2000 AEW with the Cerebrus combat system is the one Iam driving at. It is designed as an AEW&C with datalink and JTIDS. This radar also can do maritime surface search as secondary role but without SAR capability.

Pakistans have been upgraded with the new system I think

Obviously, the US was at a disadvantage. It was never supposed to present even odds, which are the only way one could infer a “winner” or “loser”. I’m sure they do this to prevent embarassment, train for such situations(worst case scenarios),a nd push for the need of the F-22.

From what I read recently, the US was not using the full range potential of the Amraams. This seems to contradict what I read back in March(?) that mentioned the US did better in BVR. kinda strange. Maybe just because the reports came from different people, with different levels of understanding of military things.

    True
The US or most other air forces for that matter, dont usually boast about how well they perform in exercises against other countries and have every paper/website in the land exagerate their great performances and generally tend to keep results to themselves…..

PAF Fanatic, stick to the PAF!

Out of the Bisons, Su-30Ks, and the Mig-29S in the IAF, only the Bisons are multirole. Why would a multirole aircraft escort a airsuperiority fighter against other air superiority fighters?

As Google mentioned, it now seems they were escorting the floggers

I don’t know, really.. It only makes me wonder why did the USAF come with the information so late? The Cope India has taken place in March, IIRC.

Fed up with the truth not being told!?

    Mig-21 bisons and Su-30s for escorting an “air-superiority” fighter ??? 😀

    “….escorting the MiG-29 !” 😀 😀

are your really that ignorant about your own air force or do you just like dumbing down the quakity of the forum!?

Air superiority tasked fighters escorting other air superiority fighters, that makes complete sense…

Why didn’t I think of that

Because you may not also of thought of the facts that the MIG-29/SU-30/MIG-21 also have a air to ground capability….

    Thats why…..

If teh US pilots did actually outperform the Indians, would they be able to talk about it!? Afterall, as stated, the F-22 PR machine could have kept them quiet….

    Mig-21s escorting Su-30s and Mig-29s? 😀 😀 😮 😮

I guess the IAF will use the Mig-21 as escorts for the Su-30s because the Flankers are clearly outclassed by a certain other neighborhood single-engined aircraft. I guess, the Su-30 needs the Mig-21s’ protection. 😀

If you read properly I think it was stated that the MIG-21 Bisons and SU-30s were escorting the MIG-29s….
