    Hi Lamps,

The Irish Air Corps took delivery of 8 x PC-9M’s last year. They mainly operate in the pilot training role, but can also be used for patrol and point air defence ops.
They replaced the SIAI Marchetti and Fouga Magister CM-170 aircraft.

After training on the PC-9M’s, pilots move on to either heli ops or transport or maritime aircraft, as the Air Corps does not currently posess front line fighter aircraft.

    Regards,

    Panther.

Thanks Panther, thats great. Would you think the IAC would ever consider purchasing a frontline fighter or is there not really a need??

I’m not sure of the RNHF’s long-term plans for the event I’m afraid.
This is the second time that they have hosted something like this, and I hope it won’t be the last 🙂

Thanks, I hope its not the last either, there sure is a great selection of aircraft on show 🙂

Oh God, I studied from that Anthology 2 years ago when I was doing mine.

GCSEs are easy, you just wait until you have to do A Levels!!! 😮 🙁

Gosh yeah GCSE’s are easy. Taking my AS’s this year, first exam on May 26th, Electronics, wow thats 10 days away 😮 Better start revising!

Flying chick, I too studied Of Mice and Men, that was fun errrr……
I agree the anthology with Armitage, Duffy etc etc was such a bore.

Good Luck to anyone taking exams what ever they are 🙂

Great pics, the PC-9 with the weapons layed out looks nice. What aircraft is the PC-9 used to train for? Plus how many PC-9’s have the IAC got on order?

    Cheers

Excellant pictures there, the Kuznetsov is a great aircraft carrier. Apologies if this has come up before but how long has it been in service with the Russian navy?

Why do I get the feeling BA will be turned into an skeleton crew run EI type operation?

Thats a scary thought 🙁 , didn’t Willie Walsh get rid of Aer Lingus’s aircraft engineering dept. to cut costs when he took over Aer Lingus? If so, my dad’s in for a rough ride 🙁
