Good luck with it all Chris. Hope it all goes well and you have a long and rewarding career.
    p.s.
I have to say though, do bear in mind your signature on the Official Secrets Act when posting here in the future 😉 Hang on….are you sure…do we still have a Navy ? :diablo:

Thanks again Whalebone 🙂 LOL 😀 yeah i have also wondered if we have a navy, i think we have a couple of ships left :diablo:

all i can think of is that song by the village people :S

Hahaha, yeah, luckily i’m going for aircraft technician, so if my security check goes well, hopefully i will not spend my whole career on ships (if we have any :p )

Also depends what level of check you are going through…
The MoD have lost people because of the long time they have taken to check people. Due to the wait they went and got another job…
They are getting quicker. They do say three months but seems to be nearer one these days.

Thanks for the help Arm Waver, much appreciated. Three months has been expressed by most people i have asked, but one month would be great. Though i’m quite happy to wait my turn

Thanks for the response guy’s 🙂

It depends on which “check” you are subject to.
In simple terms did it require information on your parents or your grandparents ?

1 Parents only- 3-4 weeks ish.
    2 Grandparents – (basic information) 4 to 7 weeks
3 Grandparents – (detailed information) 8 to 26 weeks (depending on which clearance level you need)

If you are about to simply ‘join up’ you will probably be a No:1 , unless your last name raises a marker flag somewhere 😉 .

There are no hard and fast rules to this, you just have to wait.
Whatever you are about to do remember, from here on in… HM Government always has the last word.

    Good luck.
    Phil.

Thanks Phil much appreciated. Yeah i was told in my interview that, what ever they say, the MoD have the final say on the mater. Like you have said i believe i am No:1, as im just joining the Navy, nothing special  and hopefully my name Lamprell does not bring up anything 😉

Funny story by the way, that certainly told him, definitely a moment to cherish :diablo:

    Thanks again Chris

wow, the first dock is tough, i know it hardly narrows anything down, but is it a dock in the USA or Australia? don’t ask how or why i came to that judgement, how ever vague it is
