If you’re in the London area then the Brooklands Museum might also be an option. Lots of atmosphere, interesting airplanes(Wellington, Vanguard, VC10, 1-11, Hunter, Viking, Viscount and more) and some fast cars thrown in as well.

Going back to the Storch, is it a MS.500 , and if so, might it be it be the old G-AZMH?
According to the museum’s site it is an original German built Storch that was restored in the US.
And this is a nice one to end with (the shiny P-51 is already on the other thread). The wind had died down by now and the An-2 is just landing. There are two grass strips there arranged in a cross, and the Starliner just fitted with a couple of feet to spare on the longer strip.
If I get bored behind my computer next week I could do something similar with Tom Reilly’s museum/restoration outfit in Kissimmee, or some shots from the Collins Foundation B-24 and B-17. Let me know if there would be any takers for that. All photos are from 2002 by the way.
Ahh, good to see that I’m not imagining posts! 😉
And the B-24

Eeeh, anyone??
Sorry, didn’t get any Stampe pics I’m afraid! (now where did your post go?)
Seversky P-35
And this is from the restoration shop. I already posted the P-38 on the other thread, they were also building a Fokker Dr1 replica and restoring a Stearman and a Vultee Vigilant in there.
Hellcat
And this Martin is lying outside, the wing belongs to another type, Catalina perhaps??
One of the most amazing rooms: the engine storage. This shows about a third of the wall space, and the entire room, including the floor is filled with engines!
And the other side of this one, taking pictures in here is a nightmare as everything is crammed together and the walls are covered with boxes holding all sorts of spares. Oh well, you get the idea.
Next one:
Same box, other side
(modem users are starting to hate me by now! 😀 )
Next for some interesting areas. They do two tours on each day, the backlot tour and the restoration shop tour. This is from the backlot tour where the guide opens up a selection of the ‘storage boxes’ behind the main building. Moving from left to right through three of these storage areas we get:
