Some photos I found on my camera:

Vulcan (without all those annoying people blocking the view)

We did get to see bits of Concorde! The tailcone, thrust reversers and one Olympus were lying next to these intakes.

And Dodrums caught in the act! 😀

It has been said before, but I’ll say it again: many thanks to all for a great day!

I’ll add some of my images to the other thread.

    😀 😀

    That’s what I meant!

You’ll get pretty close if you pronounce it like yella. It’s one of those names that doesn’t translate very well!

I’m sure we’ll get it sorted by the end of the day on saturday!

See you guys then! (Have found blue Spitfire cap to wear so Daz and Ian will have something to look for)

Allright, looks like everything is sorted then. No preferences on the lunch logistics, I won’t be able to bring my own though, don’t think the place I’m staying at will do me a packed lunch.

Daz, haven’t got a Spitfire T-shirt but I will see if I can find one with an aeronautical theme to suit the occasion! Hold on, I’ve got a Spitfire cap, will that do to recognise me?

As for real names, I’ll have to explain to you guys how to pronounce mine first, otherwise we’ll still get strange looks! 😀

Yes, that shouldn’t be a problem. Sounds like a plan to me! I’ll be there at 9:30 looking out for a blue Fiat. I’ve got Daz’s number so I’ll give him a call tomorrow to see if anything has changed. If not I’ll see you guys Saturday morning!

    Thanks!

Thanks for that! For me that would probably work out better as according to Daz I would have to get a bus around 8am which means I would have to leave from the hotel I think around 7:30 to make sure I’ll get there on time. Presumably if you don’t mind the detour the timing would be adjusted to a later hour? That might just make the difference between breakfast or not 😀

It’s probably best (especially when on steam-driven connection) to right-click the link and select ‘save as…’. Then wait for download to finish (get extra pair of socks) and enjoy.

    Oh boy! That’s brilliant!!!! 😀

Allan, I do hope you know what the data transfer limits of your account are, if not you’re gonna find out soon once word of these leaks out! 😀

Thanks guys for posting those! Now for some air to air video perhaps??

Sounds like a plan. Send the man an e-mail!!! (Mr. Patterson is in a different time zone though, may have to wait until he wakes up before we get an answer from him 😉 )

Yeah I can find that! I’ve sent Ian a PM with your plan, so I’m sure we’ll hear from him.

Hotel a few miles west of the castle. If you can give me some progressive taxi instructions to the Bridges, I’m sure that would work! Will have to ask Ian about the second part of that plan though!

Allright, plans have been rearranged, GF decided to forego the little kids as well, so it’s just me, looking forward to it!

The only thing to sort out is how to get there. I’m flying to Edinburgh tomorrow morning, so was looking into trains and buses, but I haven’t really figured out yet how long that takes and whether I can get there for 10am. Ageorge, I’ll send you a PM.

If either of you has server space, then just FTP them over to that space, and place a link here such as http://www.freeserver.org/srpattersonsplace/vp441video.avi

(I just made that up, so dont go clicking on it everyone!!!)

Would be great if we could arrange something that way. I couldn’t find anything on the website about the museum being closed by the way. Perhaps I’ve not looked closely enough!

I’m leaving friday morning, so communicating through the forum (or email, it’s on my site) will get difficult after tomorrow evening. But we’ll see what we can sort out before then. I’ll let you know if I can get the plans sorted out (or rearranged rather) on this end!

Well, as luck would have it I’ll be in Edinburgh this coming weekend, and visiting East Fortune is on my ‘to-do’ list. I was going to try to find out how to get to the museum (haven’t got a car with me). And then I stumbled across this posting here…..

I’ll need to convince my girlfriend that it will be really necessary for me to spend the saturday somewhere around airplanes though. It’s a weekend trip with her parents celebrating their 35th marriage anniversary, and I think she has agreed to accompany me to EF, but that was before I found out about you lot going there too. The thing is that talking airplanes and aviation history may not be her idea of a day out. She could of course accompany her parents but I think part of the reason for going to EF with me was escaping them for a bit too! She’ll survive a day at an aviation museum with me (she’s done that before) but if there are plenty of other enthusiasts about I may get in trouble as I’ll have to divide my attention then! 😀

Anyway, will gently pitch the idea to her, and who knows! Is anybody going from Edinburgh by any chance with a few spare seats in the car?
