109 JG26 relic or replica?
Swastika tail fin or replica?
I have an opinion. What do the experts think?
Swastike replica, JG26 not sure
Wasn’t this the one with all the FOX news anchors pictures painted on it and W Bush ads?
I would also choose a different aircraft. It’s a great opportunity to re-create a type that has vanished.
How the heck do you ingest silica bags in a Vulcan:eek:
Wouldn’t one of those make the ultimate garden shed or man cave?
Bought the book, can’t wait to read it 🙂
Here’s a military aircraft design that was 50 years old when the VC10 first flew…..

Yeah, I’d go with Jet and American origin.

Since it is called the IWM museum and Duxford is a second world war airfield, I think the Amiot and Casa are very representative airframes. Who cares about the different engines? For 95% of the visitors they are a Junkers and a Heinkel, just like the Germans flew in the war. In the case of the Amiot, the factory build them during the war. They just slapped another name and engine on it after the war.
If it wasn’t for the Amiots and CASAs, we wouldn’t have any junkers or Heinkels (or Buchons!) to put in museums worldwide! As much as I like a Vickers Vicking, it is not the core business of the IWM. Types representative of WW2 are.
