A Muslim cleric can never dare utter a word against Christ since Muslims consider Him one of the mightiest messengers of God, infact no Muslim is a Muslim if he or she does not believe in Jesus according to Islamic religious teachings.

If you’re going to make a montage of negative comments from a few muslims and represent that as the muslim reaction to the pope’s commentary, then i can spend a few days listening to religious right radio talk shows and a few hours searching conservative book publishing houses and give you some fine glorious excerpts of highly “logical” statements from well placed Christian figures.

Will that represent how “typical” it is for the Christians to be unreasonable?

Over a billion muslims did not react with any violence of any sort to the comments – how come they’re so not important to the dear Mr. Cardinal?
The Australian Cardinal’s oh so pious pretense is interesting – exactly what is so “rational” about calling an entire religion “evil” anyway?

    he’s a religious figure

For THE representative of an entire religion to be making that kind of statement and then to be sitting there judging other ppl’s tolerance and rationality is pretty laughable. Wouldn’t you agree?

Touching issues with reference to the church are hardly ever discussed. Their use of food as bait to convert ppl in africa is surely exactly what Christ would have wanted, right?

Secondly, when people characterize Islam as a violent religion and then the response is violence, they have nobody to blame but themselves.

Violence was and is not the prerogative of any single religion as the continuing Israeli occupation of Palestine demonstrates. During the Cold War the Vatican, with rare exceptions, supported the imperial wars. Both sides were blessed during the First and Second World wars; the US Cardinal Spellman was a leading warrior in the battles to destroy Communism during the Korean and Vietnam wars. The Vatican later punished the liberation theologists and peasant-priests in Latin America. Some were excommunicated. Islam certainly does not need any pacifist lessons from this Church.

    All because of some words………

The Bavarian is a razor-sharp reactionary cleric. A man who organises his own succession to the Papacy with a ruthless purge of potential dissidents and supervises the selection of Cardinals with great care leaves little to chance. I think he knew what he was getting into.

Are you suggesting that the contents of the package might be different than the one put infront of Congress for scrutiny?

This is certainly not the first coup in Thailand and for that matter is fully backed by the country’s ruling king (yes, a country where a king actually has power and is much revered by the populace as well). Now whatever has the General’s RELIGION anything to do with this matter? Or is it just your islamophobia speaking again?
