It is also not clear whether Pakistan has signed a deal for Erieye or only an MOU has been initialled. I think wishful thinking may be getting ahead of itself.
ACM Kaleem says that Pakistan has also finalised a contract with Sweden for the Saab-Ericsson airborne early warning and control aircraft, thought to involve seven platforms. This has the Ericsson Microwave Systems Erieye airborne radar mounted on a Saab 2000 turboprop aircraft.

What in the world is a ‘flying boat’ which can evade radar :o? Iranians seem to make every single weapon in their inventory ‘radar evading’
TEHRAN, Iran –
1.Iran said Tuesday it has tested a second new radar-avoiding missile.
2.The new surface-to-sea missile is equipped with remote-control and searching systems, the state-run television reported Tuesday.
3.On Tuesday, state-run television also said the elite Revolutionary Guards had tested what it called a “super-modern flying boat” capable of detecting radar. TV showed a brief clip of the boat’s launch. “Due to its advanced design, no radar at sea or in the air can detect it. It can lift out of the water,” the television said. It said the boat was “all Iranian-made and can launch missiles with precise targeting while moving.”

The Iranians have just tested another new torpedo today.
TEHRAN, Iran –
Iran successfully tested its second new torpedo in as many days Monday, the latest weapon to be unveiled during war games in the Gulf that the military said are aimed at preparing the country’s defenses against the United States.
A spokesman for the elite Revolutionary Guards suggested the new, Iranian-made torpedo was more powerful and capable of going deeper than others in its arsenal.Gen. Mohammad Ebrahim Dehghani told state television the ship-launched weapon can target submarines at any depth and is powerful enough to “break a heavy warship” in two. He did not give the name of the new torpedo or any details of its speed or range.
The torpedo was tested in the Straits of Hormuz, the narrow entrance of the Gulf and a vital corridor for oil supplies.

Any chances of these women fighter pilots becoming ‘combat pilots’? i.e. will they be joining the FCU at Mianwali? or will they be joining the PAF Transport unit instead?
And any chances of these women pilots being trained for the AEW&C aircrafts Pakistan is about to acquire from Sweden?
Hmm SOC and the rest, how many of Iranian air defence sites/AFBs can be found in GE??
For real exploration in Star Trek style light speed is inadequatly slow, needing 4 years to reach the next star. Saying it is not possible is one thing, I say it is not worth it. Not in the next 100 years.
This is where ‘Worm Holes’ come in. Read about it here.
So according to you where the Army should have held the parade?? Which avenue?
Well if u been inside the Cheif of Army Staff’s house or for that matter of fact to Police station which lies on route to Presidents route between Isb and Rwp, you would exactly know which toys i m talking about…. hint hint….
Hint Hint – *points at his location*. I don’t live in Islamabad, reason I asked you to ‘enlighten’ me.
M i the only 1 who finds humour in this ??
Yep
Army has no place to park its toys in Islamabad as it already has parked few at the top place in Gov namely the President house.
I am unaware of any such developments, mind enlightening me??
the excuse is so lame they have the country and cant stage a prade
Why dont you head over to Islamabad and help CDA find a suitable alternative 🙂
23rd march parade was cancelled because Amry doesnt have a place in Islamabad where the parade can be held. It cannot be done on the Jinnah Avenue as National Assembly asked Army to change the venue and CDA (Capital Development Authority) has not provided any alternate venue. The alternate option that everyone was looking forward to is basically acting as a tent village for the Earthquake victims these days.
It has nothing to do with the firing of the missile.
2) Does PIA plan on using their LR’s for routes where they actually need the extra range?
Yep, non-stop Khi – Toronto for starters.
Just downed a medium rare beef pepper steak (YuM, YuM). Meat doesn’t get any better than this :diablo:

It has already been used in the War on Terror (Waziristan) on more than one occasion. I’d advise you to read the second last paragraph of the article posted by aced_inc.
Interesting choice of words, I must say. Care to elaborate on how exactly is ‘media’ involved in banning of flying of RC planes in Islamabad by Pak Army? And I hope you wouldn’t mind sharing the source of this news (i.e. flying of RC planes in banned in Islamabad) that you just shared with us .
