Does anyone know if the FJE delay from manchester to sharm el sheik is purely technical? second saturday in a row both 24hour delays or is it something else – due to fly the route in 4 weeks. Seems that they let the rhodes 22:55 flight go before the sharm at 09:15, seems stupid imo. Also is it the 757 or 767 that i’ll be on. Obviously theyre both nackered aircraft.
After doing my degree i too was offered a job based at manchester airport. If you enjoy aviation and don’t mind the early starts (my shifts were 6am – 6pm) then go for it. I worked there for 3 months before going travelling around europe for 6 months. However if money is an issue then you must realise that minus overtime you’ll be earning around £100 a week, plus the expenses of getting to and from the airport!! Also you may find that the novelty of working at an airport wears off somewhat, particularly when you get angry passengers and the like. In my opinion why not try it out over the summer and then you can assess the job and the company a bit more to see how you like it and what the opportunities for promotion are!!
Lol, dont think theyre that stingy. Would mean getting rid of the isle!! 3-3 is the norm for a 757!!

It was last year from manchester (LBA is irrelevant), complaints about delays never make any difference, i did however fill in the feedback form on my return flight. I simply make the decision not to travel with them again. Its just annoying especially when you are stuck in a tiny airport with little seating areas for 5 hours, why they cant just keep you at the hotel till 2 hours before the flight is due to leave is beyond me. The schedule is the problem i.e. the turnarounds are too quick and no real catchup time built between fri/sun with the exception of the odd 10-15mins every 3rd/4th flight. They just need to get their act together, delays happen but their becomes a point when it becomes excessive and thats what annoys people!
Plus its not the number of flights thats the issue its the number of hours they spend in the air i.e. 14 flights to palma isnt excessive, 14 flights to tenerife would be!
Between 7-11 are very busy as most of the charters/scheduled are arriving/departing around then. After that between 2 and 5 as that is when they begin there 2nd flights of the day – charters in particular
Astraeus are generally pathetic, flew with them to dubrovnik last year – delayed by 3 hours both ways. The reason they are always late is they use them all day/night between friday AM and sunday PM so any delays have a knock on effect due to short turnarounds. Plus if one plane has a large delay then they start p**sing around with the whole schedule to cover the delay so all flights are late. The 737-700’s are ok its the 737-300’s that cause all the trouble and basically effects the whole operation – i hate them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
think its just the camera angle to be honest – seats always look more cramped from above. Much better than TCX economy for sure!!
I like it – makes them look more than just a budget carrier. Noticed last year that the paint was pealing off the logo in parts last summer so glad they changed it. whats the interior like any photos?
yeah its late again today Sched 17:45 now due 22:00 from dalaman. using flyjet later in the summer. Its been delayed pretty much every flight it has operated, anyone know what the problem is? seems strange though as cant they fix the old banger overnight rather than realising theirs a problem the next morning??

Thanks all, BA it is!! I dont like the idea of being on a 757 for 7/8hours plus ive never been on a 767. Booking it now.
G-GTDK is in for a repaint i would imagine as before it was only in a hybrid scheme.
Obviously G-SSAS one of the oldest A320’s is leaving the fleet for Donbassaero.
G-FTDF is likely to stay in the scheme in the picture as its only leased till november 06 to cover the summer schedule – not really worth spending the money to repaint it.
Thought the 767’s were leaving after the summer season and have an all airbus fleet??
