A before and after shot of my local airport:D
The programme I saw was called Britain’s Hidden Heritage and it was on BBC2 at 00:20hrs Tues night/Wed morn.
… Not a bad little programme actually.
Cheers,
Chris.
Indeed, the programme that I watched showed a massive temperature controlled warehouse with thousands of boxes containing slides that were taken from an aeroplane on a glass plate camera, they said that they were slowly digitising them.
Cheers,
Chris.
Is this one still around the Lincoln area?

Oh wow!
Thanks Smirky,
That is exactly what I have been looking for.
Thanks to Tony as well, I will send you a PM.
Hi,
Indeed I would like to know if there is anywhere that does this sort of thing too.
I have wanted to build a replica cockpit section of either a Spit or Lanc for some time now, but have never found any good scans of dial faces without the pointers. I suppose the way to go would be to buy all the instruments and strip them down to photocopy the face minus its pointer, just seems like an expensive way to do it though. I have looked at model clock faces to enlarge and computer programs that let you make your own dials, but they just don’t look like WW2 era originals.
Does anyone know of a company or individual who would be able to supply such scans?
I should maybe add that I only want to build a cockpit section to wire up to my computer flight sim, not as part of any sort of business or commercial venture.
All the very best,
Chris.

Hi Guy’s,
As well as having an interest in Aircraft, i am also a ex TV/Video repair man (now only as a hobby for personal satisfaction, but i do have a massive collection of VCR machines of most formats)
Although the true first VCR machines were huge open reel machines, they were not what we think of as early VCR

(These are all pictures easily sourced on the web)
This is a very quick pictorial history of video recorder history (missing out lots of other formats and machines, but what most people had at the time)
As for transferring Video tape to other media….
1, Use a DVD recorder connected to your VCR and transfer over.
2, Run the VCR into a computer with a video capture card, then burn to DVD or Digital file.
The only thing that i would advise is that no matter what you transfer to, always keep the master VHS, Beta,V2000 or whatever the tape is. No matter what info from a tape can almost always be saved rather than DVD and other digital info which is all or nothing.
Hope this helps someone:)

Hope this is the one you mean.
