Theres one in a book called Images of World War II by Allison Gauntlett (Parragon books) from the Daily Mail photo archive which fits the info…wrongly titled as having landed in the street! 🙂

Yes, it seems that Carshalton forms the second main source of the Wandle (the first apparently being under the former Swan and Sugar Loaf pub in South Croydon)
Re codes JP(JB?)-BJ-LB for Whitchurch to Portela, the flights would stop at RAF Chivenor and/or Oporto for refueling…I don’t recognize any of these codes , what system are they?
