I imagine the horse would never race again even if a fractured leg healed so unless homes or societies exist to ‘adopt’ injured racehorses their future must be bleak. I have a book about dog-racing (does it still go on?) by an Oxford graduate who happened to come from a dog-racing family and it portrayed the breeders as quite ruthless in putting down dogs which underperform (let alone get injured!)

Yes the Iberia stylised graphics really suited the 747….I never saw one in that scheme. There’s a potted photo-history of Iberia on flickr

Mystery 737 at BCAL maintenance base…

Longshot, here is a ‘sunny day’ Iberia 747 landing at Gatwick. I rather liked the livery of Iberia on the jumbo jet.

    Catalinas Plymouth 31May1986

Commemorating the 75th anniversary of US Naval Aviation by retracing the 1919 transatlantic flight of Curtiss flying-boat NC-4…the silver and yellow PBY N4NC was the official aircraft …C-FOWE was a companion for the flight and hit a steel buoy on landing, sinking just as it was towed
onto the slope at the former RAF Mount Batten…..repaired and flown out some months later
