Yes a static fibreglass replica…In post #15 there’s a link to the thread ‘DH86 First and Last'(2008) and Geoff R comes in at post#18 on that
Any news on Geoff Reichelt’s DH86 replica project?
Bit of thread drift…one almost extinct type which could be fully restored (IMHO) is the Spartan Cruiser ,’North of the Border’
It would indeed be nice to find some photos/info about Turkish or Egyptian DH86s on the net…a swift look at flickr produces just British and Australian examples

DH-86 TC-GEN
Interesting thread. Couple of tantalising glimpses of TC-GEN in a LIFE photo essay about Turkey 1942, with the Libs interned after the first Ploesti raid

I have G-ACZP in my spotters logbook at Kidlington 1958 but have no visual memory of it!
Airworthy Lockheed 14 sought
Is this connected with the new series of BA retro adverts?
Lovely info, thank you again. I know very little about these nice lovely old Lookheeds but as the airfield owners know my interst they have approached me on behalf of the TV people.
Of course from my point of view I would love to see one of these at St Athan and so I am being procative!
I must admit the French L12 ticks most of the boxes so far IMHO.
Hope you don’t get snow :)….perhaps not in autumn!

Fairey Information Source
Hallo Monarchmel….I’ve sent you a PM (see top right on forum page)
Not sure how much security there was regarding his Nucelar Work. I went to sea at 17. Got married and he moved to Cricceth N Wales. So our prime time together was fairly limited.
I have been working on Genealogy projects recently. One thing this has taught me is that we do not talk and record Family matters when we have the chance. then one Day it;s too late!! I am in my 70’s so I guess there is little Chance of finding much information, on Colin’s early time with Fairey. I am producing a document for the Family Archives, showing what he did where he lived etc. Hopefully in years to come it will be found interesting, by our decendents to have a little more than aplace in the Family tree with Birth, Death Stats.
I know most of the Projects he was involved in, certainly by name. Thought it would be nice to authenticate some of them!!.

Well the C-54 has a little RAF history and Churchill had one for a few months but I’d be amazed if one of these is saved….the one that was painted Spirit of 76 (in 76 :)) (scrapped now?) had actually been in RAF service
Initial Model 737s
Superb, civilspotter!….these days all the -200s look like -100s to me especially if they don’t have a traditional stripe down the side
Clipper names
My favourite back in the Fifties was Clipper Ponce De Leon a DC-6B….there’s a list at
http://www.panamair.org/aircraft/clippernames.htm …it’s no way complete (doesn’t list the DC-7Bs for instance) and lists the 049 Constellations as 1049s
