hey whats the range for this one (air launched) versus ground launched?
thanks
hey thanks for sharing!!!
anyone?
Cant discuss without flamebaiting can you?
1.Tejas has full backing of the airforce.IAF has expressed intent to acquire at least 40 aircrafts.
2.5 prototypes+1 LSP with already 672 flights already completed hardly qualifies as “unable to make”.
3.Performance wise except for having slightly less range,Tejas excels the JF-17 in all parameters. So if the PAF can accept the JF-17,why cant the IAF accept the LCA?
😀 he was giving an example, please PM him on other topics or open another thread, this isnt a thread for LCA or the JF17 for that matter
It seems to me that Pakistan may be trying to offset the deficencys of the JF-17 by procuring copius amounts of AEW. Makes sense if they can try and at least partly erode the IAF fighter forces sensor advantage by doing that but it would make more sense to just buy a better fighter. Especially considering that India will likely eventually deploy an Irbis/KS-172 combination that will make any PAF AEW aircraft very vulnerable.
yess, perhaps we should buy more types of AEWs to offset the deficencies of our f-16s, f-7s, a-5s etc…. gosh i hope there are a lot more countries offering aew platforms…. 😀 😀
haha, no but are they tracking the same IR signature? or can the pilots and their missles pick out the target they want?
The Hawkeye are US excess equipment so pak will only be paying for the radars.
The Erieye for the airforce.
And the Chinese awacs cause of the tech transfer. But i agree. 3 AEW platforms is ridiculous. I wont be surprised if one gets dropped later this year.
i say cancel the erieye!!
why the heck is pakistan acquiring THREE different platforms for the same job?
maintenence/logistics are going to be $$$$$$ expensive:mad:
Fedaykin
Now for the bombshell and I know it won’t be popular with some but the PAF has no chance in a conventional offensive air war with India over Indian territory as described in the article. The Indian air force is just too large and well equipped and the country of India is just too big for the PAF to operate over considering the layered integrated air defense network (OK it is patchy but nevertheless its a huge country making it a daunting task to penetrate) they would face. The thing is the high command of the PAF is not stupid and I think they clearly know this reality! On the other hand they can build an air force and air defense network which can give credible deterrence over their own territory. In a conventional war the combination of new swing role jets over their own fairly small airspace with AEW and ground radars can cause enough damage to the Indian air force to maybe put them off having a go.
Yes this is True! Those Pakistanis that donot agree with this are …… well i wont say. (Yes I am Pakistani)
Im surprised how biased SOC is!!!! (well not biased, but he definately seems to have something against pakistan/fc-1)
This whole paragraph sums it up
And really, why we want to sell F-16s to a nation that is clearly neither democratic nor an actual ally (have they rounded up the Al Qaeda and Taliban remnants in Waziristan? No? Sheesh…) is beyond me. We picked the wrong ally in that fight. Better to cut ties with Pakistan and move on to a better relationship with both India and China. Perhaps increased diplomatic and economic ties with both nations could lead to a mending of fences, helping to further isolate and marginalize Pakistan.
Until they start selling nuclear technology again, of course.
where do picking an ally and selling nukes fit into the FC-1 debate?
2-the FC-1’s flying ability is at the mercy of Russia at the moment, given that Russian engines are used to power the aircraft (as of right now Russia is apparently turing a blind eye to China’s re-export of said engines, but that could always change).
Havent this been cleared up like 10s of times?
Id say fill one of the external fuel tanks with liquid nitrogen!!!!
Once in enemy territory/SAM threat – wooosshhhhhhhhhhh -196 degrees of coolness:D 😀
very nice! especially the last two! superb resolution
Last two pictures are of the 102, even though the serial no. is hard to make out. anyone know which engines this is?
I dont get it?
what so special about this pilots helmet?
The mighty Sabre!
