I honestly don’t think that the JFK service will remain for too long after the deal is completed.
And why would they want to scupper a route that produces a decent profit every year? All BA have done is to make it very, very unlikely that they will be adding more long-haul from the regions as any new route would have to be predominantely focused on non-connecting traffic as I imagine it unlikely that they would do a tie-in with flybe, despite the proposed 15% stake they will take
As interim capacity they intend to take 19x A330s, which would suggest that the A350 is primarily going to be used within Asia
787s for Asia
A350XWB for longer (including MAN)
Last arrival looks to have been G-WOWC on WOW304.
Anyone notice that Eastern’s T34501 from Aberdeen tomorrow morning is showing as “diverted to Filton”.
Thomas Cook is reported to have now decided to run the BRS operations out of BHX.
What should have been the main difference is 2 engines only and not 4!!!
Jet2 757s appear to have no problems landing in Cat3 conditions at MAN, therefore one can only suggest that LBA has some kind of issue which precludes them landing there in Cat2 or Cat3 conditions?
LS218 just landed (1840) at MAN. Doncaster’s a bit “iffy” at the moment – a TOM flight contemplating going to East Midlands Leicester Nottingham Derby And All Points In And Around This Area Airport
I believe they are operating just 1 738 service per week on transatlantic services.
Anyway, why the fuss about a 738 going transatlantic? Some people ought to realise that 727s (in the 1960s) and MD83s (1980s) have flown transatlantically. I’m pretty sure most transatlanic travel in the 50s/60s was done in the comfort of narrowbodied aircraft.
BHD: Most flights cancelled or operating with 2-5 hour delays
BE180 diverted back to MAN but that’s not quite as bad as one of the BA services (think it may have been BA7605) which has a couple of goes at operating but diverted back both times.
LHR is around 500m viz. Was down to about 200m earlier, then went to about 800m and is going back down.
BA been a pain the in rear!
If you’re wondering about the delays on BA8077…..that aircraft was delayed due to fog at MAN (operating BA2906) and then after getting back to LGW, it was allegedly meant to be operating to DUB (affected by fog)and then back to LGW for the NCL service.
The LPL diverts:
Ryanair => EMA
easyJet => BLK
Wizz Air => MAN
Wonder what routes it be used on?
Didn’t look at the whole Finnair timetable, but did notice that MAN is going to get them on all services from next March.
LBA-WAW or NCL-WAW would be much better bets considering Yorks and the North East has only a 3 x weekly Wizzair to MME
As I’m sure your’re aware…
LBA-KRK currently 2 weekly with Jet2, goes 3 weekly mid-March and 4 weekly from the summer timetable.
NCL-KRK currently 2 weekly and going to 3 weekly from the summer timetable.
I would imagine they’d look to increase those services before adding a WAW service from either airport.
Surprising choice of aircraft type there, too.
Can’t quite place where a phrase very similar to that was written 😉
