I rather place my bets with the Russians than put faith in the MCA…first let them bring out the LCA 2.

The Pak FA will probably get developed faster than the LCA 2. The engines are already ready and so is the radar. Both are not for the LCA MK2.

The Al-41 is not ready.

What India needs to do is collaborate with Israel and build a long range sub launched cruise missile. Dont the Israeli’s have them on their Dolphins?

Do you have a source that says the wings will be redesigned. First time I am hearing of this.

There is a general trend emerging in Indian defence purchases- in that, if the equipment is not of either US or Russian origin the whole deal ends up getting cancelled due to some corruption charge. So dont be surprised if a European plane wins the whole deal gets cancelled due to some allegations :D:D:D:D

Well I feel they should have junked the Groshkov and gone in for the British Carrier. I agree with Ja. Dont think we are going to see the Groshkov under the IN flag anytime soon. They say that they will start work on the IAC-2 as soon as the IAC one is launched which should be by the end of this year.They are planning the IAC-2 to be bigger and with CAT’s(there was news a year or so back that the US was willing to help India build an AC).Guess thats from where the CAT’s are going to come.

It’s either the Russian’s or the US that ended up getting that cancelled :D. Has anyone given it a thought that deals involving the Russians or the US NEVER get cancelled????????????????

Actually, I don’t think the F-35 looks too bad..

Can you imagine if the PAK-FA had been a dead ringer for the X-32?

*shudders*

Well I did think that the 35 was not bad in looks either. But that was before I saw the above “Beauty”. :p

I think many of us including myself are guilty of responding to potential flame biting in the IAF thread. Let us make a pledge to ignore all off topic posts by the usual suspects.

Well thats the fun part of keypublishing- the lil online wars between the Indians, Pakistani’s and Chinese :):):). Keypublishing does give quite a bit of leverage compared to other forums(It did give more freedom a long time before though). But I guess things can get a bit to much in here at times :p

Would they not have integrated something like the phalanx anti mortor or rocket system into the iron dome for these types of rockets? I guess the range would be very limited however and therefor the protection it would give.

Isnt it going to be expensive intecepting cheap rockets with expensive missiles?

IMHO the BAE gun is lighter and better than its competition from Singapore. So no harm done. I wish they would get the rest of the towed and self propelled gun as expeditiously.

Thought the singapore one was supposed to be the better gun ??????????
