    G-BJST

    Hi,

Although there was no dataplate in the aircraft, it is almost absolutely sure it was MM53795/SC-66. However the former USAF-identity is not know. Access to records in Italy is not possible since these are still “secret”. The Harvard was released from military service “only recently” in their opinion …

    51-17…(USAF), MM53795(ItalAF), G-BJST

This particular Harvard was build after WW2, and was never used by the RAF.

Will send you some pix (PM). When having them used, please credit correctly.

    Regards,

    Benno

    KF729

    Hi,

The Harvard, G-BJST, is painted as Prince Philip’s KF729, but it’s in fact a former Italian Air Force Canadian Car & Foundry T-6H Harvard. Italian serial was MM53795 with unitcode SC-66. The Harvard was used in the film “Empire of the Sun”.

    T-6G Texans at Marrakesh

    Hi,

Yes, these are ex French Air Force T-6G Texans. But BennoT6 does not have the identity either… These are 1951s T-6Gs; not those of 1949 which had the ball shaped antenna. (and Morocco only had FY1951 T-6Gs and “old” SNJ-4s)

I have been trying to find a contact at Marrakesh since I a going there in two weeks. However so far without success. Any help in this is most welcome.

Except those two on display and those dumped wrecks there are more; more on display, more at the aeroclub, and also two (?) in use as instructional airframes. Those dumped T-6s are reported as a mix of T-6Gs and SNJ-4s.

    Hi,

You are asking for the -7 manual. Is this correct ? I do have the -2 manual; in pdf. Send me a PM when interested.

When -7 is correct I would like to know which manual it is.

RAF aircraft service history, how ?

    Hi forum-readers,

So far I have only collected copies of US, Canadian, French and Netherlands Air Force record cards. I am after one (at least for now) RAF card now. When I remember correctly obtaining this information has changed not that long ago (last year ?). Who can advice in this ?

    Hi,

Yes, had those schemes in my mind. Have already made a nice drawing with the correct serial (42-85068) on the tail. Although this one did not serve (as far as I know) with 8AAF in Europe, a sistership (42-85066) did !

    Hi all,

Not only the Danish F-84G Thunderjets arrived via Copenhagen harbour; also a number that were distributed to The Netherlands and Belgium.

Have seen mails with the full serial; is being used as a watchtower somewhere in the Belgian Ardennes.
