Spitfire in Netherlands Air Force colours
I could do that; as long it’s not on short term, and when you are pretty sure it’s really going to be a Dutch scheme. (Will scan a couple of photo’s tonight a send them to your ‘@hotmail.com’)

Dutch Spitfire dual
Gentlemen,
As far as I know we basically only had three colourschemes for the two-seaters here; two Air Force schemes and a civilian targer-tug.
1. standard RAF camouflage, with both RAF serial and Dutch serials (H-97/H-99). Two different presentations of Dutch serials.
2. silver/aluminium scheme, with either standard Dutch serials (H-97/H-99) or 322-squadroncodes (3W-..)
3. civilian, orange scheme, Schreiner target tug PH-NFN.
BTW, what is the identity of this twoseater being rebuild at Thruxton ?
When it’s ready for flight it should definitely visit the Royal Netherlands Air Force Historical Flight at Gilze-Rijen ! We had G-CCCA/161 visiting last Saturday; most welcome. Was probably the first time in some 50+ years that a Spit twoseater was here.

Benno

Harvard crashes – Cape May, NJ, USA, 1970s
Hi all,
Probably a difficult (?) question. Anyone who knows about the identities of those T-6s ? Just for my records.
Thanks for your help.

Defiant; it’s L6965
Friends,
Just went home for lunch and checked the book “Luchtgevechten boven West-Brabant en de Biesbosch”. Page 38 is showing exactly the same photo; the one with the two gentlemen.
The Defiant is L6965, having crashed on May 13, 1940 at the Hazeldonkse Zandweg in the village of Zevenbergen (that’s some 30 km S. of Rotterdam)
The crew, pilot A.M. McLeod (RAF42013) and gunner W.E. Cox both survived and were able to return to England.
The two gentlemen, standing next to the wreckage, on the photo are Mr. J. de Ridder and his nephew.
Defiants
In May 1940 a couple of Defiants crashed in the province of Noord-Brabant; one in the “Biesbosch” and one near Oosteind, which is east of Oosterhout. There is a book, written by Mr. Jan Jolie from Oosterhout (NL), describing the Defiant battle.
BTW, there is a small monument near the Biesbosch-museum, and also near Oosteind, for those Defiants having crashed there.

Harvards/Texans in the UK
Dear friends,
“Nr. 16” is message 22 is not G-BTKI; it’s more likely (as stated elsewhere) G-DDMV in the early colours. G-BTKI was a former French Air Force (La Ferte Alais woods !) T-6G Texan, and sold to the US before being completed.
