If it can earn £12 K a day, that is pretty motivating !

The header page does not immediately update and indicate latest posts, tonight lagging nearly two hours behind . This is pretty dis-functional and must be remedied.

Something is not right. The loading of pages is ponderously slow, like being back in the dial-up era. The default text size is just too small.

I know people always whine about change, but the present incarnation is not working well, and is not settling down. For better or for worse, over the last 15 years, this has been the ‘go-to’ forum for historic news/comment/debate, and hopefully can continue to do so. The volume and quality of archived material is beyond compare, and must be preserved in an accessible form.

I hope the web team can keep plugging away to get it properly back on its feet, and the membership can hang on, and keep it buzzing.

Crikey, that is sharp ( your shot, not mine ! )

We perhaps take her a bit for granted ,as such a familiar old friend, but she certainly turns head wherever she goes. She rumbled over Amersham on Sunday on the way back from the Highclere display, and the local community facebook site was buzzing with excitement.

Saw the Harvard out and back yesterday, maybe bringing back the Spit pilot after flight to Goodwood.

J Fecht, I am so pleased you have registered here , and are able to throw more light on the events of March 6th. As you observe, pre-interenet it was a long lonely slog to dig back into past events , and it is amazing how now you can suddenly stumble upon a cache of information for which you have searching for years. Your account of Bill Hart’s escape is an incredible story, and it is gratifying that even now, new details can emerge.

This is a forum about historic aircraft, but as often happens, it is the human stories which end up having the most resonance, and show how traumatic past events echo down through the years, shaping people and their outlook, one or even two generations later. I hope you are able to come to the UK sometime, and visit that peaceful valley. If you can come, I would be pleased to take you to the site, and show you round . Drop me a line at andrew4547@ntlworld.com if that might be of interest.

They were all very brave men, and paid a terrible price, even the sole survivor. As their living representatives, to you and J Gould, we thank you for their service.

Indeed, a credit would be super, but I did not know who the photographer is/was, which is why I did not post the image, but rather a link to address where it was to be found.

The only text to be found on the Yahoo generated image is some refererence to the worlds best photos of the Norwegian airforce, so it may be that someone else has copied and re-posted your picture.

I agree that wherever possible, photographers should be credited.

I am sure you are right. I had an awareness of a Lysander lurking in a shed for a great many years, just did not twig that the airframe was actually not the same..

No apologies needed. After 25 years graft, it surely deserves its own thread !

ARC have received many plaudits over the years, but still so well deserved.

I am reminded of the amazing sight perhaps 20 years ago of THREE Lysanders in formation at Flying Legends. Maybe we can see it again one day………….
