That’s a lovely picture Mark, thanks for posting.
RIP Susannah, you will be sadly missed.

SY, ‘Ginger’ Lacey, Kenneth Moore, Unknown, and, Bob Stanford-Tuck.
What a great shot of the cast/crew on the Spit.

Is it getting stripped to reveal the original pint like the FAA Corsair?
Sorry, if you want an original pint you will have to settle for Spitfire!
A shot of Thorney Island , from Sept 10.
G-AHGD, I think (crashed 1991), filmed at Booker . The other Rapide based there at the time was G-AKIF.
The Corsair at Yeovilton is cherished for its original decor and stencilling, even though I believe the actual paint finish may have had some restorative attention in recent times.
I know it is one of these two images, but being rather rusty at a/c recognition, I couldn’t say exactly which is the Corsair with the original WW2 colour scheme.
WP 803 ( G-HAPY) has been at Booker for many years, wearing the traditional red/white colours. A few years ago, eight Chipmunks were based there, though a few have perhaps moved on by now.
A bit of idle post-Christmas surfing finds that poor WK369 ( N6540C) had a forced landing in June this year and has suffered rather.
PORT ORCHARD, Wash. – A small vintage plane – de Havilland Chipmonk – crashed after taking off from a private airfield along SE Mullenix Road in Ollala near Port Orchard.
The 47-year-old pilot apparently realized immediately after takeoff that the plane had a mechanical problem and he aimed for a nearby pasture.
The plane clipped two trees, which caused the plane to spin and drop.
“I thought the good Lord had come for me,” said home owner Patty Smith. “Sounded like an earthquake.”
The pilot was able to walk away. He was treated at the scene for a minor laceration and was taken to an area hospital as a precaution.

Jolly Good Show !
Thank heavens that’s over- three nights with no sleep was taking it’s toll. 😉
Its not the back end of a glazed fuselage from a Fw 189 or something similar?
I like your thinking, very lateral, or at least back-to-front 😉
The French made all sorts of wacky machines, and if it was in occupied France, that would maybe stack up, maybe a Farnham, or something of that ilk.
The Sielbel 204 is similar, but not quite right…
DFS something or other…
Sofa, so good….
No chance of books before Christmas I’m afraid. 🙁
CHRISTMAS IS OFFICIALLY CANCELLED !
When I was 12 ( mid 70’s) I had a poster on my wall showing aircraft of the Royal Air Force.
Phantoms, Buccs , Harriers, Lightnings, Hawks, Hunters, Jags, Gnats, Vulcan, Victor VC10, Herc, Belfast, Shacks, Andover, Pembroke, Dove, Chipmunk, Dominie, Jetstream Bulldog, Argosy, Varsity, and so forth……to about 33 types as I recall.
What now ? 12 ?
Fings ain’t wot they used to be:(
