The Shipping & Airlines collection of Dragonfly G-AEDU, Super Cub G-BBLH, Hornet Moth G-AHBL, Coupe G-ABNT and Travel Air G-AAOK all heading south to north over
Henley-on-Thames between 15.50 and 16.15 out on a day like this. Wonder where they were going?.

Just seen the whole bunch of them near Bovingdon, heading around the top of the London TMA, off in the North Weald / Duxford kind of direction.

. Bovingdon was also used for ‘The Liquidator’ I believe (which had some Vickers Valiant sequences). Some articles have also claimed that some sequences for ‘Battle of Britain ‘ were filmed there. I think this in incorrect though the aircraft used in ‘Battle of Britain’ were moved to Bovingdon for a while in the autumn of 1968 as they couldn’t stay at Duxford any longer.

There was filming undertaken at Bovingdon for BoB, in particular the sequence when smoking He111 descends over a central London skyline.
This scene was a ‘flat; on hoarding and scaffold, erected on the NW corner of the airfield, with numerous takes being filmed. There are photos in circulation.

There is also a pretty amazing project at (I think) Scampton.

It would appear that the Tiger Moth flight is not going to happen now, or for the foreseeable future, due to funding concerns.

A well-written report and interesting that a “local” paper would take it up. I bet 70 (?) Chipmunks at Old Warden in May won’t get a mention in the Biggleswade Bugle or whatever the local paper is called.

That may not be the case actually. Local papers ( now an endangered species) have ever-fewer staff, to cover ever-bigger areas as titles are amalgamated
If you spoon feed them some tight editorial and some good pictures, there is a pretty fair chance they will run them, as they always have space to fill, and you are contributing for zero pay- very attractive !
