Thanks both for your help – exactely the info I was looking for
Aircraft I have flown on
Not the longest of lists – I only seem to go to the same places time and time again, really should branch out more
BA – RJ100
BA – 737
BA – A319
BA – 146
BA – ERJ145
BA – Q300
EI – A320
BE – Q400
BE – 146
FR – 738
My favourites have to be the BA146 – that plane serves Inverness well :), never seem to be of it these days and the Flybe Q400
Excellent report, Comet. 🙂 BA are an excellent airline, shame about your baggage!
Maybe OneLeft can give some reason. Can you give a reason as to why then Comet flew BA1387 she got the ‘breakfast wrap’, but when I flew on BA1389 I only got a cereal bar? Is there a cut off time for ‘proper’ food? 😉
The BA meal policy can be found on this link https://ukprepin.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/ukprepin.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=2195&p_created=1141992493&p_sid=zd7GvHqi&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9MjoyJnBfcm93X2NudD0xNDImcF9wcm9kcz0mcF9jYXRzPSZwX3B2PSZwX2N2PSZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0yJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9Y3VzdG9tZXIgb2Ygc2l6ZQ**&p_li=&p_topview=1
If the flight is delayed it should still get the meal that was planned as it is ordered in advance
From not showing up on the baggage trace on 24th December, to being found in LHR terminal four on 27th December, to having a flight from BRU-LHR on 30th December and finally from LHR-MAN on 1st January, that damned bag has had more BA flights in the past few days than we have.
You should have enrolled it in the exec club – think miles! 😀
I am surprised EZY got in the press before FR on this one. This is usually a prime topic for the O’Leary toys to start flying (maybe he got a nice new shiny one for Christmas and doesn’t want to damage it yet 😀 )
On the other hand though cast your mind back to when Barclays bank bought a share in LTN and EZY went all out there to expose the charge and actively publicised the charge for what it was
And why has such a charge not been announced at the other two airports in the group?
Nice shots
Escpecially the S340
I gotta feel sorry for BA and all the people who arent gunna be with those relatives, girlfriends/boyfriends for Christmas :([/QUOTE]
The general public and BA staff – yes I feel sorry for them, having been caught up in the August chaos I feel for them.
BA – No sympathy for them at all, they have put their eggs in the Heathrow basket
Nice pics
Especially like the Flybe takeoff one
what a/c will they use on the NCL/LGW route? Will be 733’s the same as MAN/LGW?
Just though about what I said there
Nothing strange about it – they are the only two small planes i’ve flown in, you really feel like you are moving in them. I’m really starting to like props as well, which is prob a good thing with the current BAcon/FlyBe take over
Yep the dash is my fav as well – you have snapped it perfectly Robert
Strangely enough the Dash is prob the best a/c i’ve flown recently, followed by the BAcon ERJ145
And sorry the point to my rant is as was said above by Dantheman77 if it isn’t nailed down it’ll cost you
And why are Ryanair the most profitable?
£7 to put your bag in the hold
£5 if you want to one of the first on the plane
Ridiculously priced food & drink on board
Hard sell duty free
SCRATCHCARDS???
Just as an example
BA GLA-LHR
£36 single fare if booked in advance
Hold baggage included
Allocated seating
Food/Drink included on board
£3 single tube fare to central London
Total £39
FR PIK-STN
Flight 1p taxes £9.99 – total £10
Bag £7
Priority ‘beat the scrum’ boarding £5
Cup of tea £1.50
Stan-ex to central London (ran by ONE britains most unreliable train operating company) £15
Total £38.50
Some people will slate me for saying it but is the 50p – yes 50p saving really worth travelling cattle class with FR?
That is just a bit too close for comfort 🙂
Meant to add i’m surprised they are not keeping INV/LGW and returning it to mainline i’ve boon on those services a lot over the past 9 months and they are always quite busy, also one of the few BACON flights I have taken and seen them actually sell a lot food & drink
