I wonder why the IAF hve discarded their own Kfir long ago and bought expensive F16 in the US?
Israel isn’t really paying for the F-16’s. They funds come annual U.S. military aid totaling in the billions.
LoL Really? You are serious?
Totally serious. What about a K-8 is so much better than the A-29? A jet powerplant?
I’d be more concerned about the security perspective…
XP is a pin-cushion for security vulnerabilities. After April, the zero-days will blast out of the woodwork.
I think the kfir is a good fir for the FAA. The option for advanced avionics over the Mirage F1M’s is very compelling. Will the Armada obtain ex-French Super Etendards after they are retired to replace and/or supplement the existing fleet?
There are a lot of questions around the answer here. What is the serviceability rate of the F-16s and the Su-30s? Do the Kfirs offer a level of operation that is conducive to mounting a successful campaign? How good are the pilots in each AF? If it were to come down to the aircraft alone, the AMV should come out ahead. There are just more fighter-bombers to put up against the kfirs. That is not to say a kfir is not capable of taking a down an F-16 or an Su-30, but it depends on the pilot and the classic who sees who first. Super Tucano vs. K-8 has my money on the Super Tucanos.
The OS doesn’t play much role in CAD design. Also something most people don’t realise is that the older your OS in a newer machine, the faster said OS and applications will run. Granted, drivers etc can be a problem, but if you can find a stable platform, you are fine.
Perhaps, but you still have to stay supported by the manufacturer. XP limits the amount of addressable RAM to 3.75-4GB and with a 32-bit architecture. Hardly optimal for a CAD program, especially when suitable 64-bit platforms have been around for years.
It might not be a work station used for actual work, but a presentation system.
Perhaps. It looks like a work station and it is running a CAD program, so it must be used for some dev. purpose.
From a geeky perspective, I find it interesting that they are designing on Windows XP, a twelve year-old operating system. Microsoft will end support for XP in April.
Glad they didnt stick with that blue angels looking theme
Me too. That scheme was hideous.
Great shots! Thanks for sharing.
Same here. No access from the U.S.A.
Bad links (No Permission), from U.S.A.
Are we sure the F/A-18E/F cannot drop a nuke? What else would the USN use to deliver it’s cache of nukes on board each carrier?
The market is still open for the A-29, despite significant adoption in the region. I don’t see why the U.S. will not sell Colombia F-16’s.
Likewise. Happy Holidays!
