I have a feeling China will sell to whichever nation they choose. Arms embargo or not. If it will go against the U.S., China will do it (Vietnam). Besides, the embargo may not be in place six/seven years from now.

I would not be at all surprised if the IRIAF wound-up with some J-10’s from China.

Odd an EJC machine carrying a U.S. civil registration.

I’d love to see an all-British transport make it off of the drawing board, but given the current international economic climate, that is unlikely.

It’s plastic… I wonder how well it will handle hits from AAA.

A few Bones in RAF colors might look pretty good. “Lancer B1”. The U.S. does have plenty to spare.

I have a feeling Egypt and Syria could operate 200 JF-17’s and it wouldn’t matter. The IASF would mop the floor with just the F-15’s alone. The JF-17’s might get a couple of kills here and there, but it will not prevail. What would be really interesting is Egyptian F-16C/D’s vs. Israeli F-16C/D/I’s.

This is a great idea, but it will never happen. Why not use surplus F-16B’s as advanced trainers? Would there be too much of a learning gap between that and the T-6? I imagine overhauling and zero-houring the airframes could produce a usable staple.

Interesting. I did not know Iraq operated any form of the Huey.

Some may say that USAF manned recon was replaced by a black project. It would make sense that something replacing a vehicle like the SR-71 would have to be coming from that direction

Doesn’t modern FLIR and optics have basic recon capability, with the option to transmits over data links?

Too bad… Getting to look like the U.S. in terms of air show availability.

What if the USAF/RoKAF assets could strike from hight altitude? I don’t know for sure, but a GPS-guided munition could be deployed above the cloud layer (FL300). This would not keep them out of the range of SAM’s but certainly the AAA and MANPADS. Just a thought…

I am interested to see what Bulgaria will do. Funding permitting, I think they’ll go for the Gripen, but will probably end up with surplus F-16’s from BeNeLux, Portugal or the U.S.

I recall seeing a Mirage 2000 evaluation patch in World Air Power Journal wayyyyyy back when. Presumably they considered that option as well.
