I know relations have warmed between the U.S. and Vietnam, but I don’t see F-16’s making their way into the VPAAF inventory. No way.

There is a nice market for the T-50, but I do not think the VPAAF will be an early adopter. Their trend is to not buy leading edge as soon as the product becomes available. T-50’s will be in service with India and Russia before that.

The pics would be great without the logos. Thanks for sharing.

Aside from a stand-off cruise missile launcher, what possible use does this type have? If it were to act as a bomber, it would have to operate in conjunction with air support. Are the EW ELINT/SIGINT versions of the type?

It takes a real moron to do something like that.

I think the pilot is the deciding factor here, that and whomever sees the other first. My money is on the Hornet, but do not discount the JF-17 completely.

Also they really need to change their MiG-29 camo, it looks horrific.

Really? It is a nice change from the usual grey.

We could say that about all air arms

Not sure if I would consider the IAF a ‘small air force’.

What kind of strategic goals does Azerbaijan have? Is it just enough to keep Iran from invading, or are there other objectives?

I would focus on infrastructure and defensive sub-systems. Make sure all of the air bases are in good order and what not. I would also complement the S300 systems currently in use. The Hind fleet is relatively modern, so there is no need to replace those just yet. A squadron of T-129 (most likely) or Ka-52’s could go along real nice with the rotary winged component(s). I believe all of the Su-25’s have been upgraded, if they have not, make that a priority. I would put the MiG-29’s closer to replacement than the upgraded Su-25’s. Get rid of the small amount of Su-24’s in service. Keeping 5-6 of any type, like that, does not make much sense.

Anyone ever see that movie “Pentagon Wars”? It was about the political debacle around designing and procuring the Bradley AFV. Good movie. They need to film a part two with the F-35 as the subject…

No its not! What about the Iranian Q-313? It’s reall. And everyone was laughting at at first. But they dont laugh anymore. And if Iran, a country ruled by bunch of Persians can do that, why wouldnt China+PAK be able to acive simmilar goals if they really commit to it? Plus a bounch of billions $$ invested in R&D allreaddy. Do the maths…

    Right…

Plastic models are one thing an actual in-service example is another. The vs. threads are getting a bit tedious.
