I don’t think some of these countries operated Hughes:
Cyprus – yes, confusion with UN aircraft
Mauritania – confusion with BN-2 Defender?
Morocco
Looks like the damage was not too bad:

Looks like LAF-005 to me – this serial was reportedly stored in October 2003
Some lovely articles there Galcom!
An interesting photo.
I think you can tell that pilots habitually got in and out on the left hand side. I can’t think of any other reason other than habit why he would have got out on that side given that the other side is free of flames…
I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree on what constitutes a survivor….
They were two different aircraft:
F-80C TF-808 was ex 49-1808
T-33A 808 was ex 55-4808

Thanks, will pass that on
The UAE 212s were withdrawn in the mid 1990s, presumably as the 7 CN.235s were delivered.
They seem to have vanished off the face of the earth…
A friend reported seeing a Slingsby Grasshopper A-frame in the main hangar at the weekend.
It was behind the Gazelle “XZ177” G-SFTA, and was all silver with no marks except for a small 772 at the top of the frame where the wing fits on.
Now the only Grasshopper known here is WZ767. Has a second one been acquired, or is this the usual composite?
Thanks,
Andy
Thanks Galcom.
I really enjoy these articles.
Jordan operated two. The other, 1451, was lost in Jan07.
I was under the impression that these two were 73401 and 73402, with Fuji building the next 90.
Correct. ZD266, also from Everett Aero.
