Taken from another website on a Flying Legends thread:
‘Both Jim Beasley and myself will be at the show. We are planning to fly ourselves over from Philly. Should be fun. I think the Legends show is the best. Last year I got to fly “Princess Elizabeth” there with Beasley in “Twilight Tear”. Now Jimmy owns “Elizabeth”. We are looking forward to a great time…. there are going to be a couple surprises at DUX this year that I think everyone will love!’

This is a video of a Firefly, this crashed at Duxford in 2003 killing the pilot. Is this the same Firefly?
Spitfire Spotted
Spitfire Mk IX passed over twice at 3PM, quite low between Sevenoaks and Shoreham in Kent. Great sound from the merlin and certainly made my day.
Did anyone else see it?
Duxford is usually quite ramdom for warbirds and of course really depends on the weather being good enough. Has anyone seen any flying up at DX today?
DUXFORD Update 7th APRIL
After 12 noon today Carolyn grace put her Spitfire ML 407 through her paces, low level passes and victory rolls over the airfield.Quite a sight indeed! She flew for at least 15 minutes.
Later on in the afternoon Peter Monk took his ‘Kent Spitfire’ MkIX up and flew two circuits of the airfield with his undercarriage down before coming back in to land.
Whilst Peter Monk was taxiing back to the line Peter Teichman cut through the airfield low level and very fast in his P-51 Mustang ‘Jumpin Jacques’ before he too came into land and refuel. As Peter Teichman taxied to the control tower he spun the P-51 round 360 degrees a couple of times whilst applying throttle, a lovely noise as the merlin coughed and spluttered!
There was also a Dakota flying over head toward the end of the day.
OFMC’s MKIX Spitfire ZD-B was today fitted with her new merlin aswell.
All in all a good day again at Duxford.
Spotted on a webcam actually, Rob Davies P-51 Mustang ‘Big Beautiful Doll’ parked up at Headcorn aerodrome at the moment. Has anyone seen her fly in the past few days?
That looks nice, coincidence as I was just looking at the Irish spitfire in flypast magazine and thinking that it would look better with a different scheme. I was planning a duxford trip today but have put it of until the weekend, im sure there will be more flying with the good weather thats forecast.
Just posted on The Fighter Collection website!
Prices look to be 16.95 (advanaced booking) and £19.95 on the gate, but yeah still to be confirmed.
They were definately taking off cross ways as compared to straight down the grass runway parrallel to the car park. As for runway numbers I dont know but they were taking off towards the museum, so did the tiger moths aswell. Anyway a tragedy none the less and thoughts be with the family of the man involved.
I cannot believe what I have just read as I was standing next to the sabre 10minutes before it happened. I left headcorn yesterday on foot just before 4 o clock and heard an huge bang whilst I was walking up the road! A few planes including the beaver were taking of across the runway towards the museum so I can see how it happened. Very sad indeed
Has anybody seen Peter Monks’ Spitfire MK IX lately, I know that he has moved to Biggin hill now as the Kent Spitfire company, but has anyone seen it flying recently?
