Well, I don’t have any more photos from the plane or the event other than the photos at the link. However, I took this one today at the Finnish Aviation Museum! :p
Gloster Gamecock and Thulin typ. D (at the background).

What exactly do you mean by ‘Yellow’ squadron, please? I’m working on colour drawings of the Bulldog at the moment and you’ve raised my curiosity with this title!
Many thanks for a fantastic pic.

Hi Richard!
Well, the Yellows were the “good” guys and probably the “bad” guys were something like the Greens? Strange thing that the “bad” guys were always attacking from the east… 😀
The Bulldogs were from Lentoasema 5 (LAs 5).
Lovely photo… Got any more ????? 😀
From the event or from the aeroplane?
Is that a camera gun on the upper wing?
Hello Alex!
Indeed it is. The precise model is Fairchild CG 16. These cameras were modified to fit aviation use. I have seen only one photo taken with this type of camera. Maybe the rest were destroyed by the Finnish Air Force in the great cleanup of 1950s and 60s?

Nice colour scheme. I wonder who thought that one up? Must admit it lends a different look to the old workhorse.
The plane was bought from Estonia and is registered to Estonia so I quess the Estonian made the paint job. 😉
Do you want to give us any more info. about Santahamina?
Santahamina (“Sand harbour”) is an island and the 51st District of city of Helsinki. The Guard Jaeger Regiment is based there and is the only urban combat unit at the Finnish Defence Forces.
The island rose from the Baltic Sea c. 4500 years ago. During the Viking era the island was the main base of various sailors and pirates. The first settlements were found in 13th century.
The airfield (“Sahara”) was founded in 1918 when the Lentopataljoona (“Flying Battalion”) was transferred to the island from city of Turku. During early 1920s all of aeroplanes belonging to the Finnish Air Force were based on Santahamina.
After the end of 1930s the island and thus the airfield proved to be too small for modern bombers and fighters and it was gradually abandoned and converted to infantry training ground.
Will it be Finland-based, or is it just visiting?
The owner and his Finnish wife will move to Finland after the restoration. Yes, it will be Finnish-based.

The second Hurricane seems to be Mk. IIB G-BYDL/Z5207.
Thanks for the info!
Hopefully the Hurricane is going to be painted as HC-465 since it was the closest thing to a XII.
HC-465 was a Mk. II with 12×7,7mm Browning and with 1,260 hp.
