The intention is that eventually all the 737s will be replaced with Airbus aircraft based at LGW.
1L.
However I understand that before that happens they’re going to an all 737/777 operation at Gatwick?
I don’t think so, because on a weekday of late it goes
BA2901 MAN-LGW
BA2922 LGW-ABZ
BA2923 ABZ-LGW
BA2740 LGW-GVA
BA2741 GVA-LGW
BA2912 LGW-MANNow that would definately exceed crew hours for a MAN based crew.
Ahh OK – though they do work tough ‘up north! 😀
Did you know that …
A duck’s quack doesn’t echo, and no one knows why.
<> <> <> <> <> <> <> <>
They did something on Brainiac a while ago that ‘solved’ that one. Can’t remember what is was though  😀

The fleet comes courtesy of Air Atlanta Icelandic, who AFAIK own Excel ???
They’re all part of the AVION group.
1 at the moment – it overnights in Manchester and mainly goes between LGW and Aberdeen, manchester and Geneva.
Isn’t it crewed by MAN crew and therefore based at MAN?
Excellent shots! 😀
BTW, do any of you know how many BA319s are now based at LGW??
I don’t think any A319’s are actually based at Gatwick as 1 comes in from Manchester in the morning, operates another service from Gatwick to *(Madrid/Aberdeen recently) return, then back to Manchester in the evening. I’m ready to be corrected on this one but I think that’s how it works.
Nice shots all round – keep them coming!

Some great shots there – much better than yesterday’s.
Well Qantas were never going to be in T5 – it was always going to BA all the way – and yes they are going to T3 will all of the Oneworld alliance. Put simply to incorporate all of the Oneworld + BA would = huge terminal!
Whats Norfolk, Virginia got to do with London or Manston?
I think from reading a few articles that the ‘Virgins’ (?) want flights to the UK without having to pass through a major hub, Manston wants international flights, plus there are already cultural links. I think it’s all about launching services to the UK as part of the 400th anniversary – though admittidly I can’t see any of these as a clinching argument!
