I totally agree with this and all you’ve said here! BA @LGW loses £millions a year and is only offset by the longhaul operations, hence possible plans to cut back BA short haul at Gatwick as was recently done at MAN, with frequencies slashed – e.g. 5 times daily LGW-MAN.

This is rubbish! They were thinking of transfering to another european cert. to reduce maintenance costs. The rumour about Lativa was to reduce wages & pilot rights but this is rubbish, O’Leary said it wouldn’t be Latvia.
Anyway, although being Stansted based, their head office is in Dublin and they do operate a sizeable base there!
