Exactly 😀
Wait for the Ryanair press release now then…
Ouch! Couldn’t have more of a contrast to the sunny south….:D
Great shots – nice to see a strong transatlantic presence.
EDIT – it would appear have dropped the Irish routes as they’re not loaded into the booking engine past 30th Sept when all other routes ex LGW are.
Looks like the increase isn’t as massive as thought now then 🙁
Can’t find news of them dropping the Irish routes – though I’m sure they’d be the ones to go given the competition from FR. Got anything further on this?
Hiya Cloud_9.
No services have been cut from other airports to make way for this – there are new a/c being delivered all the time.
I see your point about the home base being at LGW – but remember that all the crewing staff etc. will be based in Luton, and it would cause huge problems to relocate them. Also, there’s a lot to be said for having a home base in a small airport, for example EZY have purchased an old Britannia hanger for heavy maintenance use. This would have been more expensive at LGW – just to give one example.
Fantastic set
Getting better all of the time 😀
Fab news for Easyjet and LGW. Gatwick is Easyjets main Hub?
Certainly is :D.
Gatwick is their largest operation by quite a considerable margin. Their home base is still Luton though.
No, from All Nippon I think.
🙂
Phil
They’re due this year sometime, towards Q4 I believe.
Fantastic shots PMN :D:D
Thanks.
Anyone know why that is the case?
Variety of reasons. For example LCC are rapidly expanding and adding new destinations and aircraft all of the time – in a lot of cases the airline simply doesn’t know the exact timings of what will be happening. If they change the timings by (I think) over 1 hour you are entitled to cancel penalty free.
Also major carriers sell many of their tickets through travel agents, many people who book through travel agents will book a long time in advance.
Where they are offering longhaul flights these need to be released a fairly long time in advance for obvious reasons. And if you offer connecting flights then it makes sense to release the full network at the same time.
Also, you’ll find with full service airlines some schedules tend to creep on to the booking system over a period of time, rather than being loaded on in one go as the LCC prefer.
Different…looks quite tacky IMO. 😀
Good to see EZY getting ever busier at LGW – though still nothing of the rumoured NCL service.
The usual marketing distortion on the figures though. BA’s share of LGW has declined because the LGW pie has grown overall and BA haven’t grown as quickly, that’s all. BA have launched several new routes this year and are finally trying to turn LGW short haul round into profitabillity.
Nice ones:D
Where does the Monarch A330 operate to?
(Last pic is missing btw)
EDIT: It’s back now 😀
Don’t want to criticise guys but do we really have to quote the whole shot as well – makes scrolling down a hassle…
:D:D
I agree with Phil. I could look at Steph’s pictures all day but other people repeating them in their own postings is a waste of bandwidth, quite frankly.
So stop it please, Shadow1 and Manston Airport. 😉
