What Fokkers they only have one OO-TUF 😉 And are LOT getting the 787?
James
Yup, LOT are getting 7 B787-8 with an option for 7 787-9
For delivery in 2008.
It’s already been asked but remind me of the aircraft?
I think Sandy’s right – TUI are a big Boeing customer so Boeing will be doing some big discounts to keep them. It would be a huge triumph for Airbus to get this order, but Boeing will pull out all the stops to keep it.
Just can’t see an A320 in Thomsonfly colours myself…:D
Happy Birthday mate :D:D
+ Icelandair & Lot. 😀
LCAL & ILFC have purchased some for leasing, although it’s not yet clear who to.
Here is my two-pennyworth…I don’t think BA will go for the A380, primarily because Virgin have ordered it, and so they will want to maintain some sort of difference between the two carriers. Secondly, the A380 is brand new, it is not succeeding any other type of aircraft becuase it is the first of its kind. The 747 series have a very good reputation, and is loved by the airlines and the many people that travel on them (me included!).
TO be honest I think that’s rubbish! To claim that BA won’t order the 380 because Virgin already have is nonsense, BA will order the aircraft that best suits their needs, regardless of what Virgin have. Both airlines operate the 747-400.
Unlike Richard Branson, Willie Walsh is a much more rational thinking kinda person, and will critically evaluate every little detail before taking the final decision. This is in no way ment to rubbish RB’s style of management or flare, but what I am saying is that as soon as the Airbus announced the thought of a ‘super-jumo’, Virgin, started off by saying that they were going to put saunas, gyms, swimming pools, and even casinos onboard…!
I think you’ll find at Virgin Atlantic RB is not involved in the day to day running of the airline. Sure, he comes on TV and announces the orders and does the PR, but that’s just because he makes good TV! I don’t think Virgin rashly decided to buy the A380 for the hell of it!
Great report, Robert. 🙂
What was the United 747 doing at Hahn?
Great shots, very clear and crisp.
There is no fixed base for the A330 as they swap around, with WWBD on LHR-Mumbai runs atm, WWBM and WWBB at MAN swapping between ORD and the Leisure routes 🙂
Thanks for that 🙂
Can anyone provide a list of current bmi longhaul destinations and a/c used?
Can I just add to that and ask what the current bmi long haul situation is, ie which a/c are based where and which routes they operate?
All that black smoke!
Very well though out reply, Andy, certainly worth consideration.
BTW I think BA have sold their stake in QF.
15th November!
It’s hardly news
😀 😀
Fantastic Sam! What a set of shots!
I think MYT fly to Las Vegas……
Nice mate :D!
