If there were really too many Spits, they’d be selling for Cessna money…:p

Too many Spits…? Naaaa….no such thing. The ‘problem’ is only that there is ‘too little’ interest in the other types, or, logically, there’d be too many of them too….!

Very much so. The Kiwis have taken the Maori customs to their heart, they’re not just going through the motions. In the UK, our response to the returning fallen has been very muted in comparison. That’s our way, – but people losing their lives in the interests of the rest of us is such a big deal, yet it often never even makes the news over the latest scuttlebutt drivel about some total non-entities or political bru-haha.
I’m definitely with the Kiwis on this one.

It’s all tosh. If the colours are a shade or two different…then, it’s not even the same. Historically, it’s just a cockade. They are as old as the hills and used before aeroplanes were even thought of. Personally, I’d just ignore them. Are they going to get snotty about images of the Union Jack too…? Stop all the transfers in model kits..? How absurd.

Hopefully they can stop by and visit Just Jane so that we can see three Lancs running/taxiing together
Of course it would be even better if Just Jane could be ready to fly with them

    What a splendid idea…..what a fantastic photo-opportunity…!

It’s a dry-sump system, so essentially, there’s no reason why not, but one would need to ensure that the oil pick-up was still suitably positioned.

Vulnerability aside, on reflection, I suppose at low level, as least a Typhoon was a reasonable match as a fighter as soon as it’d divested itself of it’s ordnance. The Mosquito and the Beaufighter were no match as combat aircraft against single engined fighters in daylight – unless they were going flat-out to get away.

Just a thought;- One wonders why the powers that be didn’t make more use of the Mosquito & Beaufighter for ground-attack. Perhaps a bigger target for the AA….? Is there a definitive answer out there…?

What a lovely blast of nostalgia…! Is there much there on the MAC (Midland Aero Club) based at Castle Bromwich and Elmdon, or anything on the South Staffordshire Aero Club based at Walsall/Aldridge? I’m all eyes..:)
