Is there any update on how the painting and the rest of the work is going?
Really?????? Since when exactly.
I think it was an aspiration on the part of Dr P and VTTS – they kept dropping hints that they would like to be invited, but I haven’t seen any official statements suggesting that their dreams were likely to be fulfilled.
On one on the news bytes emails they mentioned after talks with the caa they would release some big ‘news’ about the jubilee. Engine woes but that baby to bed.
Remember the tail number from my time on 72 in early 90’s and refuelling it out and about NI. Easy to fit panel out? I remember having a complete set of Wessex instruments after one had touched the ground at bishops court all going to scrap.
The UK seems to of lost any customer service skills …… Just pop to the average high street and in a lot of shops you feel like you are getting in the way not keeping them in a job!
The guy had the full right to say No but sometimes it’s the way it’s said that gets your back up.
Being an ex stacked in the RAF as well I’ve said it lots of times 😀

My best friends dad was aboard, the classes at school were very thin that day.

For me, it’s those tiny wayside cemeteries that are the most moving. IIRC, outside Viller-Bocage is a beautifully tended cemetery with a single British officer’s grave. Clearly local people think an awful lot of him
Richard
I agree, when staying in France you come across many of these smaller cemeteries and I make a point of stopping and paying my respects.
Found a small one near houlle that was a small group of WWI headstones with a couple from May 1940.
I hang my head in shame though as there is a CWGC just down the road in Harrogate and I have yet to go, time to change that.
Was it the episode in which they buy some lynx tail rotor blades at a good price (compared to eBay retail!)

I watched my copy of ‘the last days of a vulcan squadron’ and there are a mix of colours on the flight line …. Hendons XL318 being a real dark scheme.
As promised some pics – still in current location.
