In my opinion wearing the police uniform only accounts for a small percentage of that. It can help at the beginning (surprise factor), but once you start shooting, people start fleeing, either you wear police uniform or a priest’s robe. Instinctively, when people hear gunshots and screams, run away from that area even if they can’t see who’s doing what. Accounts have been of people hiding for 2 hours for him, so they knew well about his uniform.

He apparently knew well how to use firearms and reading his manifesto, he must have done much target practicing. He must also have had very good trigger discipline, because if you give an average person a semi-automatic he will empty the magazine before he can do much, after killing the first few. In fact even in army assault rifles, there is the fire rate selector, to stop inexperienced soldiers of “spraying” the target (hitting little due to recoil) and emptying the magazine too quickly, as well as overheating the muzzle. If you give an inexperienced person a semi-auto, he will try to keep shooting as quickly as he can in order to “fire many shots” in all anxiety, because people think “the more bullets i shoot the better the result”. This way you miss and the more you miss, the more will flee. He must have taken his time to aim-shoot again and again. That’s how you avoid losing much time with having to give the coup de grace to every single one of your victims. Because if you lose much time with the wounded, the others will flee. Not to mention that an ordinary man would be all shaking right after the start of the bloodbath and couldn’t shoot straight anymore. He maintained his calm.

He had this worked in his mind covering many aspects of possible scenarios. And of course the cold blood to keep his hand firm.

Also, i don’t want him to get away with the “mentally-ill” card, it would be far too convenient for him. I think he has distorted hierarchy of values, but what he did was very rationally studied and executed. What he has written in the manifesto, he executed. No mistakes.

The bomb according to his reasoning, was a logical thing to do. It acted both as diversion and it could cause some damage to his targets.

Even his surrender, may be seen as cowardice, but again, it’s part of his reasoning in making as he says “a world stage out of his trial”.

For me he is not mentally ill. He is fully conscient of what he did and that’s already a sign that he is not psychotic. Simply, for him, maintaining his country’s culture in the way he perceives it, comes before anything else, including killing his compatriots. This isn’t being mentally ill but rather having the deepest conviction that what you do is right. Otherwise, we should assume for example, that in WWII there were thousands of mentally ill german soldiers, who were executing orders that we today consider sick. It can’t be that Germany had so many mentally ill. It’s that it had largely indoctrinated her soldiers to do or be present in war crimes without losing their calm , because they were accepting that as necessary.

I hope the Norwegian courts treat him as cold blooded murderer, not some mentally ill that will be sent to a psychiatric hospital with the view of the fjords.

I agree! Madman my ****! I am still reading parts of the “manifest”, and what it really is, is a terrorists’ manual of operations and political base worthy of “Mein Kampf”. WMD, flamethrowers, home made explosives, evasive actions, how to enter to the target area, how to prioritize targets, how to exit.

This all explains his high kill/wounded ratio , even though people were trying to flee. Also has instructions on how to make chemical rounds that should cause death even if the initial wound wasn’t fatal. (which is what he must be doing in the biohazard suit photo above, since he is trying to fill the tip of the cartridge).

Why he wore policeman uniform? It’s on the manual:

a. Create and wear a police combat uniform replica. Make serious efforts in recreating credible insignias, ID and marks. Study media pics of SWAT agents from your country. This will create confusion and hesitation when engaging hostile agents and should buy you at least 1-2 extra seconds. These extra seconds will give you the edge you need in order to neutralise any potential threat (2 head shots). If it wasn’t for what happened to Norway, i would say that this is a team of children that like fantasy roles and they like thinking themselves as Templars. But now things are serious after what happened in Norway. This “brotherhood of killers” must be struck down to the root. In the text, written by probably a British in London, they are openly inciting terrorism with fine detail about how to do it, how to avoid detection, how to obtain weapons and explosives etc. Interpol must come down on them.

I also think that there are parts in this manifesto, that should be divulged in the media, so to have the people aware of what danger they MIGHT be in and who these people are and what they try to achieve. If public opinion is unaware of their goals, they will fall easier prey to their plans and will suffer greater panic. The greek media for example didn’t say a word that they have greek members too and that Greece is also in their “to-do” list. I hope this changes today.

Is this official Norwegian uniform? It could be cerimonial uniform, but the arm patch seems a bit “too much” to me for a western army. Also a bit too much of a decoration maybe? He wasn’t a career officer in the norwegian army, was he? If so, it means they have their own uniforms too.

This is even more disturbing, since in their “attack strategy”, anything is OK. In a chapter of the 1500 manifesto, there is special mention that it is “OK to kill women that will happen to be in front of you during the assault” and in another point the same text mentions that “it is unavoidable that civillians will have to die by the thousands”.

I am also surprised that the video talks about a new “Knights Templar” organization that was founded in Britain and apparently he was part of it too. All this time i thought the Knights Templar were finished at the time of Jacques de Molay… I wonder what the “original” ones would say about killing your own compatriots…

Even if ones tries to follow his irrational logic, how is killing your own youth helping your demographics compared to the islamists? All this, together with illusions of knighthood , of being “martyrs” for the sake of Europe, is a very disturbing theory that i hadn’t even suspected that existed. Just when you thought you ‘ve seen all there is to see, here comes a new theory and leaves you astonished… They even have a timeline for their “war” at 2083. Did they use astrology to figure that out? Besides, a civil war up to 2083, will mean only a handful of people living in Europe at that time, which will mean total defeat in demographics compared to the muslims, so this beats again his own plan.

EDIT: I removed the link, since that now i ‘ve taken a quick look also at the VERY disturbing text of 1500 pages too, i saw it has instructions of how to even sabotage a nuclear reactor, make chemical rounds, etc. The killer is also portrayed with weapon, a military suit that i don’t think it’s genuine norwegian because of an “unconventional” patch and a biohazard suit. This story goes far more further than a single lunatic going mad, they are a proper terrorist organization and goverments have to deal with them seriously, because what he did, is what is instructed that they should do in their text manifesto. So he “followed the plan”, he didn’t go mad.

It seems that the arrested is a Norwegian right wing extremist? Is it certain that he is responsible for the bomb too? This is awfully sad. One thing is to have some foreigner do this, another having one of your own… So many people dead. He must have had army trainning or paramilitary (at least hunter), because an ordinary man will run out of ammo before he can kill 80.
