Hi GYD, It was indeed from a recent auction on Saleroom. I have failed to get any positive ID regarding which aircraft it may have been used in. I was hoping that Air Ministry would see the post. It is a real shame that very few use this forum these days, I always enjoy seeing what is about and gaining knowledge.

Found some Oak off cuts of wood finally got round to making some stands for some of my grips. Wooden dowel, heat shrink and a router, finished with bees wax.

Miles Master and Venom grips.

Would be a real shame to see this thread disappear, I have been helped so many times by the knowledge of others here, I would be lost without them. 

That would be a great help, a collectors guide. Good luck with compiling. I would purchase a copy for sure. 

Thank you very much for the info, as always you are a great help. I aquired the grip at Old Sarum museum aerojumble that was held yesterday. The dealer had no idea what aircraft it was from, as you say I believe it is probably ‘new old stock’ never been fitted by the look of it.
