hey soc…..what program did u use to crop, the images?? i’ve been trying to upload mine, but they all look like crap…..grrr…..and i just downloaded photoshop 7 on robc’s advice, but there are just too many buttons in that program 😀
anyways, my main problem is getting the pictures down to 102400 bytes (that is 100kb right??), and holding the quality together
and an A343 from kuwait…..i missed the MD11 that came in last nite….the saudis are coming here for the summer again, so ill get to see them enough
another plane
no, i take the pictures with my digital camera, and then load them onto my puter…
I usually take 4megapixel pictures, so the normal size is 1.5Mb or so….
then i go to Microsoft photo editor (i know, it’s not the best of editors) and hit resize….al the way till the file is 100kb or so……
am i doing this the wrong way??
Gvmt Burkina Faso XT-BBE 721
South African AF ZS-SRA 737BBJ
klm still does……so does AF… other than that, i dunno…..i know NW has a short haul fleet at some asian airports (mainly tokyo), but they dont have a separate arm like others do
this aircraft is called Nilambara, and belongs to the Omnilife group in Mexico…it’s used as a company perk for workers who perform their duties well, with flights around the world available to them
First Flight:09/05/01
Delivery:31/05/01
Engines:CFM56-7B26
This week Im hoping to hop the few hundred meters down to the runway and take a few pics at GVA (im now back home, after a quick hop from southampton parkway)….i’lll hopefully get to photograph the Thai “Royal Barge” 744, cause it has been hopping from zurich to GVA and then back to zurich on its way to BKK…
and oh, yeah, i forgot to answer greekdude….
VS is a pretty good Airbus customer at the moment, which means that no, they won’t want to piss VS off…. SIA is a relatively good customer (regardless of them doing what some ppl in Airbus consider treason)…. however, as i pointed out in my previous post, the people that are actually placing the aircraft are Boeing…therefore, the Airbus measure is aimed at Boeing, and not at SIA:cool:
by the way, i think this post is simply degenerating into a “let’s flame Airbus” post….anyone else feel that way?
one of the things you’ve got to remember about the SIA/Airbus thing is that SIA is not actually the company that’s putting the A340s on sale…..it’s boeing….and i dont know about you, but if you are going to help your rival make money off of you, then your sense of business is slightly unusual, not to say naive…so if you took your BMW, gave it to a Mercedes dealer, and BMW got wind of the fact that that BM was being sold by Mercedes as a tradeoff, they’d try for all they could to make your Mercedes’ dealer have to stuff those BMs up their nearest hole…as far as they’re concerned, the builder’s “constructive obligation” is to their customers, not to their rivals. you’ve also got to remember that vis a vis the MD11 (which i still think is a pretty good aircraft), the A340 is not only a better airplane with the same range, but the envirnmental impact that an A340 has is far smaller (for which reason, SWISS is trading in all of their MD11s for A340s)…one other thing…..to this day, no A340 has crashed and burned off the coast of nova scotia…
all it is for airbus is making sure that boeing doesn’t get as good a deal out of it as they want…
and the other thing, inter is right: its pointless to keep providing service for an airplane that will not be flying….and how will VS get a hold of concorde if there are no concordes to be had from the companies?
i think they should keep the hammer and sickle…after, all, it IS a part of their hiostory which they shouldnt necessarily let go of… shame u dont get to see many ILs or TUs outside of Russia nowadays…my last ones were in GVA (about the only other place in Europe you get to see them nowadays), and Il62/86/96 at EZE a few years before…
I agree with Inter’s post…i seriously don’t think this was a case of Airbus doing something on its own, as it has no reason to try to “punish” VS…..after all, VS are one of their leading customers…and to be perfectly honest, i cant really fault them for doing what they did to SIA…true, you should still support your aircraft, but at the same time, boeing’s deal with SIA was a bit dirty, so it’s just sending some dirt back at SIA and Boeing.
Japan??
