Do we have any news on the new Yasen (Pr 885 ) class SSN , It was suppose to be launched in 2008 ?”
my thoughts exactly. I wonder if anybody heard something about T-95 tank?
Hahahaha… back at you.
It is not a engine it’s a wing!
Read this.
My main interest is about noise. If Bear still fly like that after 50 years in service it must be of no concirn, or not?
As for Bison, 3M had intercontinental range and was more sutable for low level penetration.
One must remember that USA spend on defence more then rest of the world put together.
sferrin
chineese are closest to true ASAT capability.
SM will never be true anti-sat missle. Geosynchronous orbit is 35000km up! It will take something radically different to take down GPS/GLONASS and such. And thouse are indeed most juicy targets in a big war.
Thanks, i wonder if you can desipher that for me, pls.
“Operational radius of action at sea level in mixed mode (Vcr in the 200-km area, V=900 km/h in other areas) with PTB external fuel tanks and 6x FAB -500M-62 bombs – 615 km”
Impossible for the Su-24.

Why? I haven’t saw anything prohibiting.
For MiG-23MLD is of note there the “Normal ordnance load, kg 3,000”!
It is good, right?

You are always implying that F-111, Su-24 and Tornado are comparable aircrafts. They are not the same. There is a difference between an interdictor and a striker. F-111 and Su-24 were created for WWIII and in real life they were not used to extremes of their capabilities, like 300 km dash at M=1 at 50m in terrafollowing mode. Tornado was a great multirole aircraft, versatile capable and practical, but at the time everybody expected different kind of war.
Later batch F-16 are an aestetical nightmare. Viper came from beign most beautiful bird in the sky to ugliest.
The only thing that Typhoon have over MiG-35 is a PIRATE. OLS of 35 seems to be too small, i wonder if Flanker’s one can be adopted.
true, but it was also a question of price i think. It would be one hell of a decidion to go after M2K-5 if offered for the same $ as MiG-35.
This whole competition was ment to make russians sell their fighters cheaper, but rescent developments let us say, made indians thinking.
Besides they were probably Tu-142 thouse can be even younger.
Tu-95MS are not antiquated. They are 15 years younger then B-52H. Soviet system of production at its best, instead of upgrading not so old aircraft or ship they simply send it to junkyard and order new ones! Of cource it has to do something with the fact that upgrading is not gonna win you any orders or medals 😉
