Excellent stuff, GA. π
Nice pic’s there Grey, interesting to see the BA 777 minus it’s fin (outside Tech5 where Trident G-AWZK used to live)
Is that the BA 777 (G-YMMM)?
Nice shots Lance! You didnt happen to snap the mornings US Airways arrival did you?
Why doesnΒ΄t 787 have windowless fuselage sidewalls and screens mounted on walls?
Because unlike windows, passengers can’t open the screens to get fresh air.
I saw it last night. I came out of the cinema absolutely exhausted. A fantastic film, Heath is just superb and the Joker is utterly frightening.

I should’nt worry too much Lucas, this is just a one off technical problem, sort of thing that is fixed quickly. You’ll find DUB is business as usual by the morning and will be fine on tuesday (severe bad luck excepted of course!!)
The same thing happened last week at the same airport, delaying flights for hours.
If we are incredibly lucky – and if its available – it could be the Emirates A380, it’s pretty much complete and ready for delivery anyway and would be great aircraft to have at Farnborough.
I got 24/20.
Bring on next weeks maths test! π

ahhhh, fantastic work, Grey! ‘Rocket Propelled Grenade’ and the three-holer are fine shots!
Just how many holidays does this guy take? :diablo: :diablo:
What’s this rain that you talk about? Heald Green didn’t see any of it!
Also, that US Airways 330 was frighteningly late. Better be on time when I’m flying out on it!
Oh, and the photos are absolutely fantastic, Paul. :p
Someone needs to go tell that dude that Pretending to be a matador anywhere on an airfield, is strictly prohibited at all times.
I haven’t been to the airport for a while – but this is how I did it: works everytime. π
Taxi to the Thistle London Heathrow Hotel (in the top right hand corner of the airport). For me, the taxi would have been from the terminals or Hatton Cross. Now that T5 is open though, you could get the underground to this terminal and then a taxi from the terminal. A lot quicker and less expensive. A taxi from Hatton Cross will cost you Β£15 or more.
Walk out of the hotel and turn left – and walk along the road, through the quaint little village (little old English country pub type village – that sort of thing) until you get to some roundabouts. Go over them, and walk to the landing lights of 09L. Its a nice 10-15 minute walk.
The hotel and village is in Longford.
You don’t really need any more info than that – because the village sits on a single main road its a simple walk and once you get to the end of the village, its quite easy – just head towards where the aircraft that are landing over the road. You really couldnt miss it.
Getting back, go back to the Hotel and you can get on the LHR hotel hopper busses (you may have to pay because you are not hotel guests), or alternatively, you could go past the hotel and out onto the A4 and try and suss out the public busses to the airport.
Just beyond the hotel is a McDonalds and a petrol station – good for supplies and easy to get to.
Hope that helps
EDIT: Thinking about it a little bit, if you get a taxi from T5 to Longford, you’ll drive past the photography spot on your way – but the taxi driver may not be too happy to let you out there – just hold your breath and let the taxi take you to the hotel. Also, Longford is literally an Olde English pub village, so that will keep PMN happy.
A walk down memory lane! Great photos, Paul!
