…the Dassualt Falcon 7X will be there, as will the Rafale, F-18, F-16, EMB-190, Legacy 600, A340-600, Global 5000, Mirage 2000 and a Typhoon, but which air force(s), I don’t know. I dont know if they are static or flying, but I hope that helps.

All I know so far is that Airbus will display two A380s – one on static and the other flying. I will do a bit of looking around to see what I come up with…

damn. I quite liked photographing their colourful aircraft at the airport!

on a more serious note, interesting move if they are looking to replace their aircraft with 757s. are the 757s to replace the whole airbus fleet, or just the long haul aircraft i.e. 340s?

    They are cool photos Si!

For the first, I would say that the obstructing runway signs were a problem, its slightly unlevel, and there is ‘too much’ space in front of the aircraft – crop closer into the nose. ‘part of aircraft cut off’ may have been a reason for rejection – both with the landing gear, but also (and this is being very, very picky), the ‘Martinair’ logo by the over wing exit and the tiny bit of window on the very edge of the photo could also have been picked up by the screener – you need to show the whole window, becuase to ‘them’, half cut off windows make photos not ‘asthetically pleasing’ – its just like cutting a letter from the words along the side of the aircraft in half.

In the second photo, the aircraft is too low in the frame. The photo may also be a touch too ‘red’. The parts of the aircraft that are painted white, should perhaps look a little more ‘white’.

Perhaps you could try a different crop – a vertical crop as shown in the attachment. Also, the photo may have been rejected for bad composition or aircraft not centred. if you explain in the comments to screeners what it is exactly that you are trying to show or explain why you chose the crop, the photo may stand a better chance. Increasing the brightness may also be helpful.

I love the last photo – its really sharp and the colours are great. But for a photo site, I dont think it works. Motive may be questioned by a screener – what are you trying to show – and if you’re trying to show aircraft, there isnt enough of the subject in the photo.

They are just my opinions – they are all great photos, but certain photo sites may not accept them as they are.

    🙂

I took my GCSEs 4 years ago and remember taking killer 3 1/4 hour Geography exams. I think I took around 15 exams in total.

I really don’t know how I coped with all of them. 15! I moan nowadays about taking 5!

I was very much into Flight Simulator at the time and had to go as far as uninstalling the game from my computer and giving the CDs to my mum to hide away. She also did the same with my AirlinerWorld mags. Oh the pain!

Hey, don’t worry guys. It’ll get better over the next few years. Good luck!

I passed my driving test over this last Easter Break. thought i was in for a hell of a time when, at the beginning of the test, the instructor asked me the combination of general knowledge questions. I couldnt answer the question about how to ensure the hand brake is working.

Nerves attacked my left leg (it started shaking violently 😀 😀 ) making controlling the clutch an interesting challenge. anyhoo, 6 minors.

    1. What, if anything, will you will remember Tony Blair for?

Iraq War. I will also remember him for taking the country through a pretty tough few years (on the international stage, that is – terrorism etc), and doing pretty damn well IMHO

2.a) Do you approve of Gordon Browns succession to No. 10?

I’m not sure. If he gets the keys to the door, it will be interesting to see what he manages to do. When you watch movies that feature a portrayal of the US President for example, you have some opinion about whether or not the actor ‘looks like a President’ and fits the role well. I don’t think Gordon ‘looks’ like a Prime Minister. I can’t imagine seeing him stand beside Mr Bush.

    b) Do you think the Labour party should be in control now?

Yes – Labour won the last General Election.

    3. Bearing in mind their success at the recent local elections, do you think the Conservative party has any chance of winning the next general election?

I’m going to vote Labour in the next General, just to do my part to try and keep Cameron and Conservatism OUT of Number 10.

Yes, they have a chance – of course they have a chance. But I’d be mighty pissed off if Cameron won. They’ll bury me deep in the ground before the Tories become the leading party.

Hi Terry, welcome to the forum! You have a really interesting collection of photos there – I like how you’ve added info about the operating history of each aircraft. I look forward to seeing more! 🙂
