I get what i think is the flight path for Stansted departures, over my house in Colchester, which is about 30-40 miles east of STD. they reach maybe 7-15,000 ft. i get the majority of the heavies in the morning and the evening, and the smaller ones (mostly 737s) throughout the rest of the day.
Can anyone tell me by looking at charts whether the flight path is the STD departures or not? thanks
It would have to be a good restaurant – you wouldn’t want to go all that way just to be served bad food 😉
Maybe it could work – but i think 2018 is a bit too ambitious. what if it gets stuck half way up? it’ll take a long time for the engineer to get there to fix the problem! how long would it take to get to the other end? wouldn’t it be a bit lonely?
If the accident happened to Eva Air, why is BA investigating it? Why not Eva Air’s own engineers or staff?
When i went back in 2002, i went to one of the multi-storey short term car parks in the centre of the terminal complex. Go to the very top where you will get good views of terminal aprons, taxiways and the runways. i was able to see 737s/A320s (i.e small jets with comparatively short take off runs) rotating on 27L, but it all depends on the ATC operational config. of the day. I could also see aircraft on approach for the opposite runway.
On the news a few days ago, i heard that BAA is considering giving enthusiasts/photgraphers passes allowing them to take photos without annoying the authorities. BAA would ask the enthusiasts to report any ‘unusual’ or ‘suspicious’ goings-on. BAA employing an army of people to watch planes and act as security guards?
damn, you’re good. well done.
How about this one? Slightly harder maybe?
Try and name the type, and the airline 😀
could be…lol
yes – it is. 😀
nope…
Could you provide some photographic evidence of its flight?
Does it fly? lol

i don’t think you should put the blame directly on Piers. It wasn’t entirely his fault. The real culprits are those soldiers who made the images. They then sold them to the newspaper. Piers was only going on what he was given. yes ok, maybe he should have checked the pics out better, but the soldiers are the naughty ones – they made £££’s selling the images to the paper. Maybe cheque book journalism should be banned?
The Independant is still a broadsheet – its just gone tabloid size. The Independant (and the Times) is read by people who work in the City and who are classed as educated professionals. they read the paper when they commute – i.e. on the train or the underground – the only spare time they’ve got. These people find it hard to read the paper, having to deal with the shear size of the sheets, getting all screwed up and in a mess, falling apart etc…, so the Independant thought it would be a much better idea to cut the size of the paper to tabloid size. this makes it much easier to read on the train, Undergorund, taxi etc, and is very popular with its readers. thats why they changed the size.

She may look beautiful WITH makeup on, but imagine her without all the makeup on. Now how does she look?
