What’s the point of doing it? Is it going to be used by both airline operations, or is it some marketing ploy?

well done, quite an achievement!!!
i like the A318 but a change in AFs livery would be much appreciated – its so dull!
adam
thanks for the pics! (still not sure about those engines though)
adam
i think it looks quite good. maybe the blue bit on the fuselage could be a bit darker and the engine could be modified (it’s too soft), but otherwise i wait to see it on the actual aircraft

its a shame Concorde isn’t going to visit East Anglia and the southeast – why is it that she is mainly visiting northern areas of the country? If she visited Stansted, i might have a chance to see her as some of the Stansted flight paths come over Colchester (my town).
thanks,
adam
i read somewhere that the 737-200 was nicknamed ‘Fat Albert’, because its wingspan is almost exactly the same as it fuselage length, and makes it look chubby. am i right?
thanks,
adam
my favourite(s) are Pandoras Clock starring Richard Dean Anderson, as a pilot of a passenger jet, carrying a guy who it is believed to be carrying a serious plague like virus. the aircraft is banned from landing in any european country, beacuse of the fear of the suspect virus spreading. anyway, the guy dies, and the aircraft eventually lands in Iceland. it goes on and on, and i haven’t the time or patience to tell you any more – it’ll ruin the story for you if you watch it
my other favourite is Pushing Tin. this shows the stresses and strains undertaken by Air traffic controllers. it is detailed in showing their work. a new, unconventional controller arrives, and a sort of confrontation results between the ruling controller and this new guy. it is comical, and fun. watch it when you can. its also got good graphics
i agree with MINIDOH and Super Guppy – brilliant films

name: Gem Airlines (motto: the jewel of the sky)
aircraft: CRJs (probably 700s) (nice RJ’s)
base: one of the 3 main london bases
type of airline: low cost frills, designed especailly for business travellers
destinations: all EU capitals and secondary cities (high frequency)
no holiday destinations
livery: bit like the new bmi livery i.e. sort of flowing, and bluey
interior: a seat pitch of 33 inches, personal entertainment, simple meals etc
expansion: into america, and international servies form london offering first class service, lounges etc
adam
bad idea.
it will be just like trying to put a permanent autopilot in the cockpit, and getting rid of the human – people i.e. the passengers, won’t feel safe in the air without knowing that there is a human up front. putting your life in the hands (or should i say microprocessors) of a computer isen’t very comforting, especially if there is the risk of it failing,

when easyjet announced their huge order for the aircraft they also announced that they will be putting 156 seats in the aircraft, by, I think, removing a toilet. somehow, i don’t think you technically squeeze in any more seats – the A320 is a 150 seater.
I think that the airline maybe (and im guessing here) MY travel – they do operate the A320 (don’t they?) so the fleet commonality with the crews would be good, and a cost cutter.

thanks guys,

I am 16, and have just recieved my GCSE results today. I am ultimately aiming to become an airline pilot, and fly high. i, unlike many of you of my age have no flying experience as yet, and i pray that this disadvantage will not affect my ambition. i hopefully will join a gliding club soon, so that might help. good luck Wannabe Pilot in your GCSEs next year and anyone else in the same position: if i can do it, anyone can.
thanks,
adam
ok, sorry m8. from what information i have it says that their fleet totals about 370, that includes all the 737s and the regional jets such as the ERJs, operating with BA regional
