Agreed this is an excellent YouTube channel and the content is superb- no-one else seems to cover the U.K. golden age of aviation and Nick does a great job
Crikey well found- we never questioned the ID from Newark and they had it for decades so you’ll made the first discovery of the frame serial!

Super work as ever John thanks for all the updates in 2024 and all the best to you and the team for 2025!

Terrific stuff!
I believe MV154 was painted in Oz by Steve Atkin/ Warbird Colour but SL633 is in the same colours as applied by ARCO at Duxford and not painted by him (spoke to him today!)

There were a few NOS wooden cases containing two .303 aircraft Brownings floating around a few years ago. They were deactivated in the U.K.
If I recall correctly they were from Portuguese stocks and were FN made and of course the Portuguese operated Hurricanes amongst other .303 equipped types so perhaps that answers the question?
Just wow! Well done everyone!
Sorry to drag up a zombie thread but this recent video shows the Guy Black 109 aka ‘The Indian One’ which I must admit I had lost track of over the years…also the new Mossie fuselage and Storch.
Ah could be the top of the removable stick I didn’t think about that- but the drawings show that the bottom tapers into a square section to fit into the retaining bracket as I mentioned but if you haven’t got the bottom bit… yep could be!
Hi Alan,
I don’t think either are 504 as the column appears to be too short and also I believe they had a squared end to slot into the torque tube – in any event they’re not like mine!

Yep we have a lovely Lynx at Sywell – its sectioned and fully working (ie when you turn the prop hub) and complete. Rather a nifty £750 ebay find 5-6 years ago actually upside down in someones back garden – it is even on its original engine stand….even the carb float has been sectioned. We do have a Siskin type Generator too…that might be available.

Terrific stuff John well done
