RE: Airlines on the edge
It´s too soon to say if airlines are going to be permanently harmed. I think many are playing dirty. Most wanted to cut jobs and this is a good excuse.
RE: Lufthanser Cancel orders for A380!!!!
I would say, not really canceled (they hadn´t anounced it firmly) but postponed it. The A380 ís a long term project and things must get better soon. I am affraid the airlines are playing dirtily. I suppose they aren´t taking a good use of the sad circunstances to eliminate jobs too soon.

RE: BA & A380?
Well, BA (Boeing Always) is only intested in Boieng. Political presures from the “american friend” are too intense. The small fleet of Airbus is supposed to balance this point. BA has a lot of lines in which the A380 a perfect choice like for Virgin whose markets are esentially the same. On the other way, Lufthansa has plans to purchase 15. I am sure Iberia will follow soon.
RE: whats the best airline and aircraft you have flown
I doubt the A340 is the narrowest widebody cabin. I find it fantastic. I prefer it for longhaul over the Atlantic or other place with no alternative airports than the twin engines ones. I find the B777, nice but not as the A340. If you put an engine at the back and redesign the tail resambles a DC-10 or L1011. The engines are too big. I don´t know what would it happen to the wing structures if one exploded. Just an oppinion.
RE: Regional airlines
Hi, have you been there for a long time?. If you don´t welcome from Santiago SCQ. Just a question. How are the works of the new OPO going on?.
Best wishes;
RE: Fokker 100
Great plane. It was a pity Fokker went out of business. Nowadays it much more confortable that most new brand regional jets.
RE: 4 die in Binter Regional crash
Well, the pilot has just died. Experts are saying that it may have encountered an turbulent wave from the previous landing. That´s quite probable.
RE: Virgin in Star Alliance?
Yes, Qualiflyer is having a bad time, but I still think they are eager to revitalise the aliance by adding new members. The benefits offered to Virgin would be irrisistable. That´s simply an oppinion.
RE: 4 die in Binter Regional crash
Well first point, that Melilla is not in Morocco is an Spanish city located in North Africa. About the accident, there was an engine trouble and colapsed 200 metres from the runway. At the moment there were strong winds so the first investigations are starting to suggest that a windsheer could have made the plane to go down in a moment of the flight when thrust is limited and sustention is low. We have to remark that the plane was fully loaded. The airline had been purchased by Air Nostrum (other Iberia franchise and was to replace the planes for F50, not for safety reason but for extra capacity and to homogenize the fleet). However, like in all parts of the world people tend to be ignorant on talking about planes. Something small and with a propeller is old and unsafe. Unfortunately this is being used by local politicians to fuel people fears and get jets at Melilla whose runway is the shortest in Europe (1100m).
RE: which is the best airport
After that passionate defense of your airport we´ll have to check personally what it´s like:-)
RE: Virgin in Star Alliance?
Good as oposition to BA Oneworld, but conflicts of interests with Star BD. I see Virgin in other aliance like Qualifyer.
RE: TS flight makes an emergency landing
It´s early to say what went wrong. A sudden stop in all engines (two, three or four) is almost impossible and it´s more probable external causes, like massive lost of parafin, contamination of it (improper mixtures, water on it and so on. Something similar happened to an IB DC-10 in Santo Domingo after dettecting that the parafine contained huge amounts of water). We have to consider the possibility of it had overflown a volcano (ashes can stop all engines). What is clear is that they have been really lucky after have hovered during 18 minutes. I wonder how difficult is controling a plane with no thrust or power. What could have happened if this had occured more far away from the airport?. It´s quite horrible to think about it.
RE: TS flight makes an emergency landing
It was a A33O and was due that it run out of parafin.
