RE: Arrogancy in this forum
The best to do in this case is simply ignoring rude behaviour.
Abusive and impolite people don´t even deserve being answered under any circunstance. It´s not so difficult being correct. Kabir, have my solidarity.
RE: air rage
It´s one ot the most serious situation a flight attendant has to face. It´s common in some airlines, with certain type of traffic (heavy drinking). There are dozens of cases: grils cut with bottles, abused, kicked and even stabbed. The fines are serious, but it´s hard to control some passengers before the plane lands are these people are put under arrest. Many airlines are taking measures like carrying cutts on planes, or even electric devices to control troublesome passengers. I think cabin crews aren´t paid to be policemen and airlines should do something most important, like in the arab airlines in which police travel on planes either as flight attendants (does anyone wonder why flying on Tunisair, Royal Air Maroc, Syrian or Royal Jordanian one have lots of nasty male attendants?). Others simply carry guys in first usually who scrutanize the situation all the time. It´s a good idea. But this costs money and the management teams don´t have to solve this problems. It´s more convenient the crews do the nasty job and get paid the same.
RE: Cheap airlines
correction…..they really can´t afford it.
RE: Cheap airlines
I trust Cheap airlines at least in Europe where control are very careful and intense. I have flown a couple of times Easyjet and it was simply great. New planes, good pitch, puntual and as careful as others in terms of operation. Just simply think: Cheap airlines are carefull scrutinized by the public. They know that if they have a crash, they´re over. They simply can afford it.
RE: Regional airlines
Regional airlines have to strive in giving an excelent inflight service to compensate people hate against little or propeler planes. As a former employee of a regional airline flying EMB145 I have to say that it was like flying first because in order to get good yield passengers paid high fares and we had to treat them as Business travellers. It included in all flights linen table cloth, metalic cutlery, hot meals served individually in
China, champagne and all kind of drinks and in shorter flights we gave a selection of canapes, sweets, chocolates and other things. In Air Nostrum which is Iberia Regional, the service is a bit lower but in any case remarkable. Flying SCQ-BIO (1.15 in A DASH-8 they serve a douggnut and croissant, fresh orange juice and coffee or tea all served in china. In the rest of the day I could be Filled salad croissants, baguettes, hot pies or selection of sweets or ice creams. Lufthansa City LIne gives trays but bread and sweets are served individually. American Eagle in ATR is dreadful (peanuts).
RE: Colour Schemes
Well I love….Royal Jordanian, Lan Chile, Iberia, BA ethnic colours, Gulf Air, Thai (the one with the big boat), Islandair,
Condor, Varig, Monarch, Gandalf, and all bright ones. I hate the dull and boring ones.
RE: Heavylanding
Well, it´s when the plane suffers substantial damages. A friend of mine (who is a flight attendant) landed with the front landing gear (windsheer) fall down, broke the main undercarriage, crashed in three pieces, the back went to a forest and no dangers to the passengers but an umpleasant experience. It was in the 80ties in Granada (Spain) on a Aviaco DC-9. I had many rough ones since landing in here gets really nasty due to the weather conditions, any like this of course.
RE: Shortest and longest flights
Well my shortest flight was SCQ-OVD with both lie 300 km away from each other and takes only 15 minutes in a B727, in their way to BCN. Now the flight doesn´t stop there any more. My longest was to EZE from MAD but I wasn´t much concious about it since was when I was 10. The longest after this was Dallas-Frankfurt on a LH A340 and took 10h.45m. The food was reasonable good. My criteria to choose an airline is:
-Four engines if it´s ETOPS.
-New plan and with safety standards.
-Good inflight service and the one which the best pitch in “monkey class”.
-In too long flights I prefer stopovers (tourist class syndrome)
RE: Milatary Aircraft(sorry ,its out of topic)
Military jets….horrible stuff.
RE: A340-600 vs. B767-400
Airbus forever. Four engines are better than two in ETOPS
(Engine Trouble Or Passengers Swimming):-). The B767-400 looks really bad, too long.
RE: Gulf Air’s special paint
Brilliant painting.
RE: The Best Airport in the world
I am not impressed at big airports. Lots of connections but incovenient for everyone. Long corridors, congested lounges, big, big, big but not nice at all. Regional airports are hassle free, convenient, human and nice. I love airports like Liverpool or London City Airport. One can make good use of the time by late boarding. In Spain there are lots of lovely terminals in which one can board even 15 minutes before departure. I get 45 minutes before my flight here. You have to fly Bilbao, brand new and as spectacular as Guggenheim. Nice is LCG as well and mamy others. Barcelona is nice, not too big and with lots of destinations. The worst are Palma and Madrid with lots of delays, time missing and km from each terminal.
RE: Palmair, what´s that?
That´s definitely the best web in the world. The besti informed people. Thanks a lot for your comments.
RE: On a Wing And A Prayer
Money doesn´t anything to do with politics. Boeing will continue be selling aircraft in China and specially taking into account the commissions given to many Chinese officials for their approval, That´s to say……ideologies are over and money rules the world.
RE: What I think?
Well, Iam not telling anything since I totally agree V1. There are reallu ugly planes. The TU-334, the C212, the Shorts, all stretched versions…and so on. And for ugly ones of the militar ones.
